Apparently, if you have less than six months left on your passport, from the issue date, you will not be allowed to come to France. BUT, what if you already have a CDS, would this make a difference?
How long are they taking to issue new passports these days, and how far in advance can one apply?
Merci.

If you've got a CDS, then entry to France from the UK means that you will be returning home. As I understand it the less than 6 months rule applies to those going UK>France>UK, not France>UK>France.
Turnaround for my passport was 14 days, if I remember correctly, from sending off the old to signing for the new.

Thank you, FFS, I hope that is right.

The same questioned was asked on another forum during last week. The answer was given there was that if you have a CdS a passport less than 10 years old with more than 3 months is OK to return to France.

I applied for our new passports on the 13 Aug. They have received the old ones but still no further forward. Your 2 week turnaround must have been during a quiet period?

My wife's was renewed online in mid-July and took 11 working days from application to delivery by courier. The photo was obtained from a photographic shop (£8) and the digital code used for the application. You used to get 4 passport/id photos plus the code but it appears that only one larger photo is now supplied for digital code applications.
Edit: You can track the application online.

I've just checked our applications again and still no movement. As you say, holiday period. I'm sure it will right itself in time.
