The BBCs international correspondent is still reporting from Kabul. Is she still safe and how will she get out?

We've been wondering that exact same thing for the past 2 weeks. We don't have an answer though.

Yes I've been wondering that too.
She's fearless and so good at her job.
Hope she gets out safely, and soon. She was in Dubai last week so she obviously went into Kabul risking her life and the crew who are with her.

TF1's correspondent Liseron Boudoul is also still there, with her cameraman, and I have to admit that the question never occurred to me; I think international journalists have a sort of 'free pass', bearing in mind they can present opposition views in a less than condemnatory light.

I think I heard the other day that there are 10 of them stilll in Kabul, be they reporters, cameramen, or sound people; brave people, whatever they are. Has anyone seen 'A Year of Living Dangerously' with Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver?

It is necessary to recognise that one of the first things the Taliban are trying to do is to re-open the airport in Kabul. There seems to be a suggestion that the last leaving may have done various things to make the place unusable.
In the absence of an Afghan air force, reopening the airport says that they want international travel to resume asap. Plenty of acceptable airlines around:
Emirates Qatar PIA Aeroflot Turkish China Airlines

The risks these newsgatherers take are astounding. Especially for women in Kabul. Above and beyond...
