Usually ipads work by using the wifi connection from your Livebox. So no electric power then no wifi from the Box; so not much can be done on the ipad. But, if you have a smartphone, and you have 4G reception where you live, and you have enough data allowance on your mobile contract then you can connect your ipad to your phone's 4G wifi signal. So your phone acts just like a mini-Livebox .. only faster. But only as long as your phone battery lasts . What is your OH hoping to do on his ipad whilst you have a power outage ?

There are 3 main drawbacks to using your smartphone as a 'Hotspot' or mini Livebox as far as I can see ..
1 It gobbles up data at quite a fast rate. 2 If you forget to switch off the 'Hotspot' when your electric comes back on the "Hotspot' will chug away regardless and you could find yourself with a large mobile bill. 3 You will run down your phone battery if your power cut goes on for more than a couple of hours .. it depends on your phone.
Question : How big a data allowance do you have on your mobile package per month ? I have 30Go which is quite a lot.

Sue, I passed on your post - his response 'I won't bother it's not so necessary' - you just can't help some folk still at least I try like this emoji I sometimes go round in circles As for data allowance 🙀 - it's a 3,50 per month payg so we'd have to up the contract - not worth it as we don't use the smart phone unless we have to! You did try .. and now you know it's possible in an emergency 😉 Tho your data limit might be a bit on the low side for more than that. Delighted that you blocked seeing the Games .. tho I play word games so I am one of the guilty ones 😊

Nothing to help with your initial problem, but if you have a mobile phone with a camera, then take a photo of your wifi security code, that way you always have it noted and you can make it larger to actually read it. I seem to use that for a lot of things now.
