A court has decided Agnes Buzyn should be formally investigated for "endangering the lives of others" (mise en danger d'autrui) over her handling of the start of the pandemic.
Within the article is the following, relevant to something worth establishing in any democratic society:

Just as well that something like that is unnecessary in the UK because our executive politicians act with the greatest probity and competence.

It will be worth watching/hearing what happens next .. I do remember years ago the ex-Budget Minister, Jérôme Cahuzac, being prosecuted of fraud when he insisted, right up to the highest court in France, that he was innocent of the charges against him. Only to 'fondre' when the Fraud dept produced evidence from Switzerland of his 4 000 000€ or SFr in a secret numbered account. Interviewed only a short time later he said he was hoping to stand again for a government position ..

The Cour de Justice de la République was set up after another famous public health scandal "du sang contaminé" which took place in 1985 (see Wiki quote below).
Blood transfusions using contaminated blood infected patients with the AIDS virus. Several ministers were involved but all were cleared of the accusation of homicide involontaire. The judges said that, considering the scientific knowledge at that time, they were unable to make any other decision (seropositivity was considered by certain scientists to be a sign of protection against or even immunity against AIDS).
This prompted a minister involved (Georgina Dufoix) to say that she was "responsible but not guilty"... (responsable mais pas coupable).
I wonder when this expression will crop up in this case... ?

If such a system exists in the UK, why not?

Incompetence in a role that has a bearing on the health of the entire state..... hoooooo........

Yes but .. if he had ambitions to go further in government then in what areas of government would his aspirations have led him ? And how did he amass 4 million Swiss francs or 4 million euros ? What deals were done to achieve that, remembering that he was Budget minister ? It was money from the French people's tax payments that he was dealing with ..

Couldn't agree more....he's a crook! My département's home-grown, 100% crookedy crook But it's a question of scale with politicians, isn't it? And whether they get caught. Being incompetent and/or taking bad advice isn't the same as actively defrauding the State.

Whoa, whoa, whoa all you Brit expats, before you go casting aspersions on French politicians. Why do you think millionaires and even multimillionaires are sitting in the Westminster parliament for less of a salary than that of a senior civil servant or a senior manager in industry or local government?

Not 'til hell freezes over. The UK have not yet identified potential guilty parties for the same AIDS debacle let alone tried anyone. So Hancock might just be in a spot of bother in something over another 36 years!
