The English Prime Minister has let it be known that annual deaths at a rate of circa 50,000 is acceptable when doing a cost/benefit analysis. Cost being deaths, benefit being the economy. Seems that he's going to meet his target, and might well exceed it if the reckless approach continues. Must be one of the few times he's kept his word. What a wonderful country.

Can I be first to congratulate England on its independence. I didn't like to associate Scotland, Wales and Ireland with such idiocy. Wouldn't be fair as they've tried so hard to manage the situation with people's health and welfare foremost.

Beats me why anyone would be shocked or dismayed. The UK government has been praying for a natural disaster to get rid of pensioners ever since the Liverpool Pathway was uncovered. And people still revile Hitler He was a beginner....

And people still revile Hitler He was a beginner.... If you were young; would you not be wishing for the same thing? Or you could just have 5-10 kids and break the system now..
Funny world we live in now but I do not and will not require a government to support me in my older years.. Thanks to my parents, their investments and also my investments as Social Security would never be around when I got to the age of needing it; a brainwave 30+ years ago by me and my parents. If SS is available to me, I will use it to pay the gardener.
Seems most of the people who are complaining now did not "save" for the future or wasted their money in their youth when they should have had a financial adviser or at least savings... £10 a week/month/year put into a "retirement account" since you were of working age would be very helpful now. A couple of pints or bottles of wine per month or walking instead of driving to the shop 500m away.. I can continue with the examples if you need to educate your children of the need to save money for a rainy day or to pay for you in your old age.

Do not know what you mean by that post but I have lived next to the med for 20+ years in either Italy, France or Spain and have probably entered it 2 times... A big salt water bathtub in the summer and I will add as an (edit) beached northern whales (/edit) with no waves... San Sebastian or Biarritz for me...
