I'm hoping this doesn't mean we all have to carry a tracker (aka- smart phone) when we go out.

The health pass is the paper vaccine attestation/EU digital Covid certificate you can download from your Ameli account or you can use a the version stored in the TousAntiCovid app. You may also be able to use a recent PCR/antigen test result? The attestation/app has a QR Code which you will have to use to enter various establishments. The establishments will have an app to check the code and give a green indication, if you can enter, otherwise red it will show red. That app doesn't gave away any other information about you.
The EU digital Covid certificate is accepted throughout the EU. I think the UK and EU are still talking about accepting the data from the their two apps.

UK are probably trying to find some old school chum to award a contract to, to sort out the interface.

The EU Health pass thingy doesn't carry a photo - or at least it doesn't when issued in France. Does your paperwork have the words "EU DIGITAL COVID CERTIFICATE" on it? If not, you need a new one from wherever you got the old one! (Or a pharmacie or GP or vaccination centre or whatever...)

As I do not carry a 'phone I printed out the aforementioned EU digital Covid certificate, but I printed it in A6 format so after it is folded it easily fits into a credit card slot in the wallet. I then thought of the intransigence of French administration so I thought I better have a test run at the Pharmacy. Yon chemist was a little surprised at how small mine was, oo’er missus, but had a go and lo it did perform as expected.

I'm going to photo copy my attestation and carry that with me.

I'm going to photo copy my attestation and carry that with me. Depending on when you got it joeblck , it may not work. The first ones that were issued had a QR code forinternal consumption, then later ones had the updated QR code and the current ones are in the approved EU format. If you go to the pharmacie with your carte vitale, they'll print off the new one for you.

Macron might have been eloquent on Monday night but this is a poorly thought out idea that has already seen several u-turns.

Speaking of Macron's eloquence, do you think it would be useful for someone to show Johnson videos of Macron's various announcements as an example of how a country's leader should present himself to his people?

Surely the content of the message is more important than how it is delivered? Johnson is a clown and acts as such, no amount of elocution lessons is going to change that.
