I want to buy a lightweight carpet shampooer and have seen one on Amazon.co.uk. It is not available on Amazon.fr/de. The cost is about £89 plus £12 postage. Has anyone purchased anything from the UK at a similar cost, i.e. £100 and can advise whether any duty / tva has been payable? I have only ordered small cost/size items recently which haven't had any other costs added.

On ebayuk you see all costs before you pay, never used amazon but I would have thought they will say what the costs will be before you pay.

I had something from Amazon UK in my basket last week and the price was updated with the handling costs etc, I bought on ebay.fr in the end.
It was however a purchase on Amazon.fr which was to be fulfilled by Amazon UK, I havn't tried buying an article from Amazon.UK with a French address but I would expect the same as Mysty.
Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress etc have all got to grips with the Brexit and import fees & duties without any glitches.
Overall a lot of UK sellers have stopped selling to the EU but for those that do, usually with fullfillment by the selling platform its a seamless experience.

If it is supplied by Amazon warehouse any taxes will be included in the final price. If it is supplied through a business using Amazon then you might find VAT and handling costs will be applied by the delivery company. It is frankly a real bu@@ers muddle at the moment and I have received 5 deliveries from the UK. One was due VAT and was charged (Jan), three were probably just below the threshold for VAT payment at the time and no payment demanded (early summer) and the fifth was due VAT payment but was not charged(August).

I ordered something from amazon.fr last week and it actually came from amazon.co.uk with the export charges listed at the checkout. The interesting thing was that the bottom line was less than the same item would have cost in early September when I ordered the same thing to be delivered to a U.K. address post free. I cancelled that order because they could not give an expected delivery date and I needed it to arrive before a particular day.
