Beejay, if you were in the Blue Note bar when the quiz was on, I was the guy on his own who won the quiz ! Who was the quizmaster AP, was it Daniel like it was on our crossing? Yes it was JD, he is a really good singer, in fact, I always thought the entertainment was cheesy but now I find it quite entertaining and helps you pass the time away. On my way out there was a guitarist/saxophonist and singer (all the same person) who was excellent. When my daughter was younger, she would drag me to watch the kids entertainment, I always remember there was a old guy dressed as a clown called something like Bluey, he was so grumpy, he always ended up doing balloons shapes for the kids, he said they could have anything they wanted but the boys always ended up with swords and the girls had either what looked like a sausage dog or a horse depending on his dexterity . He reminded me of the Punch and Judy man from Hi De Hi I have always wondered what they get paid per crossing. As it must be pretty boring when they are not performing.

We must have been on the same ferry.
I use the A3 to the M25 then M1 with no hold-ups anywhere so 103 miles in 1h30. Several fuel stations on both sides of the A3 had vehicles at the pumps. I had topped up with diesel at Total Ouistreham at €1.46 so considerably cheaper than the UK price.
Beejay, if you were in the Blue Note bar when the quiz was on, I was the guy on his own who won the quiz !
After seeing the entertainment on the outward trip when I came third in the quiz out of three I avoided it on the return! My wife and I had reserved seats 109/110 which were separated by an aisle and another passenger was seated next to me. A couple to our left also had reserved seats with an aisle between them. When my 'neighbour', who was not wearing a mask, started coughing we moved to other seats. I spoke to the receptionist and then an officer but was told they were aware of passenger seating being allocated with aisles between couples and it was not unusual. New seat numbers were allocated but when we returned those seats were already taken by passengers without reservation so I gave up.
As a regular user of Dover - Calais and Eurotunnel for many years I may have to reconsider my choice for future trips to Normandy.

We have friends who have a house in Isigny Sur Mer in Normandy and they have used BF for about 25 years but have now decided to use the tunnel or Dover Calais, we are a good hours drive further on to our house in Brittany and the journey from Dover to Worcestershire is a pain but I might try it when travelling on my own next time. As for the reserved seating, on our first crossing after the start of the pandemic, the three of us had reserved seats, they weren't even together and the seats were a bit tatty/dirty, we chose the red leather effect sofas by the closed boutique on deck 8, there are charging points (a daughter's essential). So now don't bother, we only do day crossings so no need for a cabin, unless you want somewhere to store your bags and as a Club Voyage member an outside 4 bed cabin is a £5.

My husband and I are returning to France on Wednesday, our first visit since leaving 22 months ago. We’ve had our 2 jabs plus our booster shots and our flu jabs, have filled in our Verifly details for British Airways, so hope that everything will go smoothly.
We had intended to drive down to the Gard but had to forget that for medical reasons, travelling by train seemed as though it would be stressful as we’re used to travelling direct from St Pancras to Avignon and we would be on trains for a very long time and with a lot of people. So we’re flying, not our first choice, but the flight’s only a couple of hours and we’re travelling Club Europe so there’ll be more space.

I would not go near a plane or train anytime soon but its a long drive.

Wishing you both a stressfree journey and a very happy arrival. How long will you be in France?

Thank you all for your good wishes; I’m feeling partly excited and partly a bit trepidatious - wondering if we’ve got all the right info on our phones etc. The Verifly app was the worst thing so far as it wouldn’t accept QR codes etc at first or second attempt. That and packing! 😄
