I used Nationwide Pathology at £40. Test kit arrived day after ordering online and test results by email the day after posting them.
Lateral Flow day 2 test starts 28th October. These are listed from £3 for diy home test HERETesting For All has sent my OH an email offering the swab at home lateral flow tests from the 24/10/2021 for £19 each, we have used them for the PCR tests at home and very pleased with the service. We are travelling tomorrow and our single jabbed 14 year old daughter has to provide a lateral flow test result, we ordered it from C19 testing for £29, it is identical (called Flowflex) and is identical to the ones we have now got free from the NHS but with the important the QR code on the back. We actually have bought two in case we go to a restaurant.

For those who are interested, if you use Randox, there is a box for a promo code. If you put FLYRYANAIR in the box you will get a fiver off.

A bit of a change of direction for this thread. I had a PCR test at a local pharmacie today; I’m triple vaccinated and flew in on Wednesday, took a train to Avignon on Thursday then was driven home by a friend.
I was pinged by the NHS after arriving to say that I’d come into contact on 16th with someone who later tested positive, so did a lateral flow test that I’d brought from home a couple of days ago, tested negative.
A couple of people mentioned that it might be a good idea to have a PCR test done as well, so off I went this morning. €25.01 and 10 minutes later and I came away pleased to have tested Covid negative and carrying my certificate, which a text tells me can be added to my TousantiCovid app.
i was very surprised at how different the PCR tests have been in the UK and here. I’ve had about 8 PCR tests, some in hospital and some because I take part in the Zoe Covid research each day and have been asked to go for a test for them, which is added to my record. All have been negative.
in the UK the swab is wiped around both tonsil areas (whether or not you have tonsils) and in 1 nostril. Here it was solely in one nostril, the swab was much sharper and produced many more tears than any others I’ve had done.
It’s good to be shown to be negative again, although I didn’t think it at all likely that it would be positive.
