I am going to need a 2 day PCR test for a U.K. visit. It will before the lateral flow is acceptable. I have seen PCR tests listed as self administered sent by post. Has anyone used this or any recommendations?

We used Testing For All, ordered it whilst in France before we filled our Passenger Locator Form and inserted the test kit number as proof of purchase, £48 and sent to our UK address, heard today that 48k PCR tests that were negative could of been positive, that were sent to a laboratory in Wolverhampton. I did my test 24 hours after arriving back home, we have a priority post box in our village, sent it off same day, 20 hours later got an email showing it was negative.

Another recommendation for Testing For All.
I chose it because it was Which? recommended, and can vouch for its efficiency.

I had to order a day 2 and a day 8 test prior to my trip back last month but didn't use either however my sil who was returning home from Spain was able to use the reference number on her PLF and used the test and my wife is going to use the remaining test when she goes back. Value for money I think.

Yes we used testing for all, we arrived home Friday but test kit didn’t arrive until Saturday after post had been collected, we did the test Sunday and just put it in local postbox, when we searched, all the boxes locally seemed to be “priority”, it got there ok, and we received the result Tuesday.

We used Randox because Brittany Ferries had a slight discount deal with them. They were £45 each after discount. We returned the completed tests by Royal Mail next day tracked, as there are no dropboxes near us. They were sent on Tuesday lunchtime and on Wednesday morning Randox emailed us to say they had received them. We had a further email on Wednesday afternoon to say the tests had been completed and we were both negative. Very happy with their service.

I used Nationwide Pathology at £40. Test kit arrived day after ordering online and test results by email the day after posting them.
Lateral Flow day 2 test starts 28th October. These are listed from £3 for diy home test HERE
