A lovely day for tinkering in the garden. Today will not be a day for tinkering in the garden, I’m moving heavy machinery this afternoon. Enjoy the gardens and the sunshine.

Frost caught most of the Acers, but they should bounce back, cutting grass again today as well as pricking out in the Polytunnel, which is warm work, also rigging up framework to support the melons, the strawberry plants, Uk variety are flowering and some fruitlets already showing, most of the seeds have germinated a few none starters, Passion flower, Teasel and Basil.

Still a bit early for a lot of veggies . The sudden changes in temperature , especially with the continuing wind here , is not doing any good. The wind dries everything out. We are hoping for s couple of wet weeks!

Yes I too have a basket full of good intentions but I did weed and crop our asparagus bed so I am not feeling as guilty as I might.
PS. the asparagus was great with Hollandaise sauce and some ham.

Boxed (carton) or home made? Cartonned. Life is too short to do some things that can easily and cheaply be achieved by other means. If you feel differently you are free to visit on Tuesday for the next cropping and show us your prowess.

We have no weeds , just local plants that do well . Stop fighting them and live with them ? My 'local' plants are docks, horsetail fern, chardons, bindweed, speedwell, annual grass and brambles/ivy/cornus/chinese privet donated by the birds. Sorry, but in my book, that's not a garden, that's a mess. There's more than enough of France en friche, without my little bit of it! But each to their own
