I heard tonight of the passing of Barry Coope after a short illness. Barry was a founding member of the singing trio with Jim Boyes and Lester Simpson. Radio 2 played this song of theirs, very appropriate to Armistice Day.

To be honest Biggles I hadn't heard of this singing group before but, having listened to this song, I can appreciate their ability via the difficult medium of acapella.

I saw them once. Amazing depth of sound considering it was just voices.

I'm pleased that you listened to it Sue - there's nothing difficult about acapella - you just Sing! Everybody can, and should, sing - it is the best de-stressing activity easily available (According to Which?) and costs nothing. And, if you can do it with other like-minded folk, it will give you a better high than anything else IMHO. In the meantime I shall post a song by the late Nancy Griffiths on a new thread. Warning! It is a real ear-worm! ps There is a wealth of Coope, Boyes & Simpson on youtube, all brilliant!

Biggles .. you might believe that there is nothing difficult about acapella tho I disagree. Singing in tune is one thing, singing harmoniously with others, whilst remaining in tune, can be a minefield.
When those who can .. do, then the result is delightful. So, I shall remain a listener. Tho I might just be tempted to join in quietly when on my own 😊
Edit : My tablet invariably alters, nay 'corrects' Biggles to Giggles every time unless I spot it and change it back; daft thing won't learn.
