Test in morning, result afternoon, the samples are collected twice a day. Worst case the next morning. Gatwick was just my immediate thought as it's just over an hour from Portsmouth. Once I checked further I found they also do near to Southampton Airport. At only 30 minutes away the idea is a real goer now. Just waiting to get nearer the date to book up. 👍

Good luck, I hope it all goes well, they are not the cheapest but if anyone is going to benefit from my hard earned I want it to be them.

I sent a message to say I could not find the Covid thread, hold my hands up I am thick. Got your message; you're not thick, just probably used to landing on the Active topics page where the board categories aren't shown.
If you hover your cursor (sorry, I don't speak iPad) over The Other French Forum in the breadcrumb trail above, you'll see a dropdown menu which shows you the various boards in the various categories. See images below:

The boss of Moderna has said today that he thinks the current vaccines will not be totally effective against the new variant.
He expects it will take a good few months to develop a new vaccine to counter it.

That's what I heard too, but also heard Boris say today that the vaccinations are effective against all the variants.
Lying again 🙄

Lying again 🙄 He is a liar but that's not exactly what he said tonight - 'We are waiting for evidence about how effective the vaccines and the boosters are against it. There are good grounds for thinking the boosters will give the protection people need'.

That was always their standard backside covering delai but my results have always been as quick as I mentioned. Perhaps when things had slowed down they were not processing the samples on a Sunday morning for instance but now they will be back in full swing.
They are a proper testing laboratory that rose to the challenge of creating pop up sites around the country and increasing their laboratory capacity rather than an MP' neighbour or mate with zero previous knowledge or experience and it shows.

No, it's changed. It was 10am.

Thanks, I expect it will still be quick, on one of my tests they said the van had just arrived to take away the samples from that morning so I would have the results in a couple of hours and I did.
It's all a game anyway and makes no real difference to me as I usually arrive fully provisioned and am working on the property, never visiting anyone but for those on a short visit to visit family the time is critical but those are exactly the cases where if they do have the virus will be spreading it.

lapourtaider In fairness there will now be a lot of extra demand so an increase in 12 hours for the maximum response time does not seem too excessive.
