It's not the SPA I fear. It's my sister, a real dog lover, she'd fry me alive.

Funnily enough I have recently been bemoaning the lack of choice of pasta, you rarely see those bow shaped ones now, it’s nearly all fussili near me, I too am a massive fan of orzo, favourite is with ham, peas and loads of Parmesan. Farfalle....... . Penne used to clog up all the stores shelves. For my next Easter Youvetsi with Lamb Shank, I will be trying the widely available Alpina brand. Crozets would probably work well but today I found a rice grain shape that looked like orzo - Les Avoines. I will report back next week.... Not that I have ever seen , let alone eaten the real thing, I thought the Avoines Savoisiennes worked pretty well. They don't take much cooking , so maybe 10-15 mins max. Excellent lunch in the garden !

The young know nothing It’s a shame isn’t it, the smell of a stock bubbling on the hob is a wonderful thing. My mum always used to make a lovely chicken soup from the carcass with chopped up spaghetti in it.

Veggie night tonight - we’re going to try making homemade falafels and humus. Pitta breads and tomato, cucumber and onion salad.
