The chip shop is one of the main reasons I keep thinking of excuses to move to Confolens You might even build your social life up a bit there! We go on Fridays, usually about 6.30!!!!

Unfortunately my youngest, last lycee goer, wants to study Russian as his third foreign language and they don't do that there, or I'd be there! I'm not even sure they do his second one, German - I know they do Spanish from when my older son went there and was really disappointed not to be able to drop it

Not so much the UK as Scotland because that's where my family is. I'm torn between Scotland and France but for the time being France edges it but I can see a time ahead when Caledonia calls me and I'm going home. We all get old unless we don't and I don't think France is the place to be old.

France (I'm told) is generally warmer. Apart from health issues being cold is my worst nightmare. When France is warmer it very much warmer. When it's colder its very much colder. France is sunnier and drier for longer, no question. The weather is a factor but not the deal killer you'd expect. Try and get a space on Prestwick beach if the temperature reaches 20c. 15° and a blink of sun and we're out hunting koalas for the barbie and not a sausage to be had in Tesco. Plus a centrally heated well insulated bungalow v a stone pile with wood stoves? A GP / 1,100 inhabitants. I don't know the ratio in France but it's at crisis point in NE87/NW23. I don't want that when things go haywire. I'm lucky to have an MT. Some people are finding it impossible to get on the books locally. It's dead man's shoes, if the doc doesn't croak first.

France is home we have been here over 30 years I would not have the same quality of life in the UK. Mortgage and debt free here and enough work to last the rest of my working life that's if I want to work.

I totally understand that. I know you don't have warrants. I checked. You do have an outstanding fine for parking on the junction of Orchard Park Road and Fenwick Road. Obviously before the lights were installed. Nice XR3i BTW.

Thanks to climate change wherever you are the weather is now so unpredictable, whilst summer's here can be unbearable it's the lack of defined seasons that is most noticeable.
Whilst the NHS is a mess, just accessing a doctor or a dentist here can be difficult due to rural 'deserts' which the government are trying to address.
