Rear drum brakes are not such a particularly bad idea. They make it easier to do double duty as a parking brake, and because the highest proportion of braking is achieved by the fronts anyway, their efficiency is not as critical as one would assume. They always need to be weaker than the fronts. If not the rear end would lock up under hard braking and things could get a little exciting in the wet. That why the have a limiting valve on the rear axle to stop excess rear lockup. I have a new truck and its on ventilated disk on the front and drums on the rear, stops quickly without lockup, but less of a problem these day with ABS, do most new cars have it as standard now? Hope you get your brass back its not nice getting scammed. Caveat Emptor.

Just a warning, I was expecting my delivery of my new ride on, the Co. 67-Agriservices has a very professional website, I checked them out and they have been going for 20 years, lots of stock and keen prices, I even have an account with them which shows my basket with my ride on mower in it. OH looked them up on Facebook and 4 days ago there was warnings from people expecting deliveries, the company has posted that an ex employee had set the site up and it is all fake. In fact the company actually doesn’t have its own website. Hopefully I paid on my Halifax clarity Visa card so i have contacted them. I have even had an email from the fake company saying there is a delay in my delivery and it will arrive on Friday. Any update on the situation, annabellespapa?

Thanks FFS, not really, the cheeky blighter contacted me to apologise for the non delivery and said new stock was due in last Tuesday and would be delivered last Friday, my wife saw on the Co. Facebook page that 4 days after making my purchase that people were complaining of lack of deliveries, the Co. said that an ex-employee had set up the website and was doing it illegally, even naming the employee (but it could be the ex-employee) controlling the Facebook page. I messaged Halifax visa card via my App and did not get a reply, so I called last Wednesday and was told I could not submit a claim until 14 days was up, I explained it could be a scam but they weren’t interested. Phoned again yesterday (14 days after the purchase), still not interested and told me to callback Monday and speak to the disputes department and they pursue the Co. but I said that it sounded like an ex-employee as others on Facebook have since added but they weren’t interested in taking the details of what I knew. So I will call tomorrow but they are hiding behind C19 and working from home… so who knows, may have to make a claim via my French House insurance. Any chance advice of anything similar happening in France would be appreciated. Thanks for your interest FFS, loving the new forum 👍

Apologies for repeating myself but when I went back onto the site on my phone it looked like it was asking me if I wanted to “create a post” and rather than lose my lengthy post to the ether I posted it (again). 😞

Is there any more news to report? It must be really upsetting to be put in your position. Initially I thought your plan to get your money back was going to be successful but you seem to have not received the necessary assistance from your bank. I have been waiting for you to post some good news, either regarding the money or a delivery. That website is certainly convincing and you may have saved me from a similar experience. I suppose your research about the ex-employee running a rogue website seems terminal. Good luck with any further attempts to get your money back.
