Do any of the girls on here still get hot flushes when in their late sixties ( I'm nearly 70). I do and it seems to be getting worse. If anyone on here suffers the same and knows of anything I can do apart from HRT I'd love to hear from you. Just going off go melt..........

I sympathise - I went through it all years ago when still teaching, but have recently have found them returning from time to time. It happened this morning while at the chiropractor, a sudden hot flush and soaking wet - not much fun, and I’m glad it wasn’t my first visit for treatment!
To be honest, I haven’t done anything to help with the flushes, so can’t help, although I was thinking about HRT cake earlier - I remember that from years ago, had linseeds in it. Maybe I should look the recipe up………..

From yourself or are there two of you using the ID again?
The OP asked about girls getting hot flushes, I would have said that it should be women not girls but these days people can identify as whatever they like.

OMG pcpa - the arrogance and ignorance of some men commenting on women’s issues. Mysty2 was being pretty understanding and sympathetic. Women or girls does it matter? The 2 terms are interchangeable these days as are boys and men. Nothing to do with identifying as something. Sounds like you are a bit hung up about LGBT terminology and are attributing it to everything? Hot flushes are horrible - in fact the whole menopause thing is. Some women suffer more than others. Not just hot flushes but fatigue loss of brain function etc. I don’t get them so much now bit still get a very sweaty head which can end up with very wet hair if I exert myself in hot weather. Wish I could offer some help other than opening the fridge and sticking your head inside which I still do occasionally….

I do.. I have had them since I was 51..now 63 and I find them worse in this prolonged hot spell. They are not so noticeable in winter. When they first started they were relentless..about every 10 minutes, worse when stressed or under pressure. They are a bit more manageable now but they really did make it difficult to work.
I find diet modification help a bit, particularly cutting down on diary products and adding in plant oestrogens such as soya. and pulses and beans. Reducing alcohol as well. I have recently been considering asking for HRT ..never tried it but it seems to be a lot more tolerated now. 10 years ago no one would prescribe it.
