If I have truly understood your post .. then the news is very sad, as Demon has featured so often in your posts over the past few years. He had acquired quite a fan base. How upsetting. Both of you must be devastated.

I was so sorry to read that, Mysty - I think some of us felt we really knew him, such a sweet chap. He was such a big part of your lives - sending hugs.

You forgot the 'Il a ..' mangetout, at the beginning which alters the meaning of the sentence.
"Il a, très professionnellement, coudé, torsadé et soudé très noblement le fer toute sa vie".
'He, very professionally, bent/curved, twisted and welded iron very nobly all his life.'
From the article in Ouest France he sounded a super gentleman - in the very best sense of the word gentleman. I would add "the" to your translation, "...... welded the iron........"
The working of the steel is a metaphor for (I am guessing) how he forged his team around him to create great things.
What I am trying to say is that he was not a Ferronnier nor was he working with steel, it was typical language used in an eulogy.
Soudé is often used to describe a close knit team, - une equipe soudée.
Google Translate etc should never be used for flowery metaphorical speech like that.

He lived the best of lives, not sure if that is any comfort, sounds like you made a hard but compassionate decision.

I'm so sorry to hear you had to say goodbye to the lovely Demon. These hard decisions we have to make are the final kindness we can show to our beloved pets. RIP sweet Demon.
