Nothing. It is just another attempt to try to criticise anything to do with the UK. Sad but if you have nothing better to do etc etc

If it was a "stollen" car perhaps it was in Germany.

What does this have to do with France? Perhaps only to support the French idea of not bothering to detect or pursue stolen cars. Much more profitable to just collect fines from speeders.

Perhaps that level of attention as a lot of car stealing is done to support a drug habit or dealing.

A similar thought occurred to me that the police may have known or had a good idea who the perps were but needed to catch them in the act to secure a conviction.

All of the cars appeared to have been passing the camera very fast, far to fast for what I am assuming would be a 30mph limit (shops on both sides of the road, parked cars etc) sugegsting to me that the others were unmarked Police vehicles.
As Exile said they probably knew exactly who was being chased and how they would react when cornered, at this stage prior to trial they cannot say any more than that the vehicle was reported as stolen, anything else would be an allegation that might prejudice the rights of the poor souls to a fair trial. Otherwise they would have written "chasing a stolen vehicle driven by someone who lives in a caravan without a toilet"

Well, I just posted a polite question! The heading of this site says "All things French" Why would anyone feel the need to post information about events in the UK? Best wishes from Toulouse.

And so far the only discussion you have taken part in is the one you object to.
Strange that.

My post was made in the Cafe. I always understood that that area was not restricted to French matters only.
I have friends who live close to where the accident happened. Hence it was brought to my attention.
I could not help thinking what a terrible waste. Especially on police forces that are there to guard public safety.

Well, I just posted a polite question! The heading of this site says "All things French" Why would anyone feel the need to post information about events in the UK? Best wishes from Toulouse. You'll find a lot of threads aren't directly related to France, some where the relationship is oblique at best, and others that aren't related to France at all. However, the forum was set up not just to cater to topics directly related to France but also as a place where Francophiles could meet for a chat. As such there is no real limit to the extent of divergence from the core premise. It's natural that there will be a significant interest in the UK because most members are (or were) UK citizens. It's the variety of topics that keep forums alive.
