but, this morning it struck me that women think with a different sense of logic to men.
I wonder what drives this logic?
What has brought all this on I ask myself. In this case it was a blocked teapot spout.
More details.
We take it in turns as to who makes the first cup of tea of the day. This normally depends upon who wakes first and has the biggest craving for the most popular English drug of choice. This morning it was her that felt the need first. She presented me with a slice of toast and thick cut marmalade and the words ‘ I have brewed the tea. If you want it you can get it yourself. I am not going to stand there all morning waiting for it to pour’
I knew exactly what she was talking about. The blocked spout is a bit of a PITA. I get over it by simply tilting the pot further forward so that the tea onside flows out of the lid of small metal single cup pot and negates having to stand around for another minute before returning to bed to drink it. I admit, it does not really conform to my very exact standards of tea making but at that time of the day I will accept anything given to me. She normally drinks green tea made with a tea bag. How crass can one get? I am footloose and fancy free and blend mine from a variety of sources. This usually involves opening teabags and mixing them. Seems that the days of finding loose tea in bulk are past. Though occasionally one chances upon it. It can be a bit risky though.
I suppose it depends upon which tea shop or room one uses to carry out trade.

I realise that this is a bit of a revolutionary suggestion, but has either of you thought of stuffing a piece of wire down the spout of said teapot and clearing the obstruction? Or soaking it in detartrant? Or just getting a new teapot?

A new teapot! I have sold loads in the past and refuse to engage is such wasteful behaviour in my single handed fight against consumption and usurers
The idea had occurred me but that sort of thing is not within my driver’s remit. Just a matter of sorting some suitable wire out. I Have a piece of that fine plastic covered wire that is used for tying tomatoes up to have a go at it this morning. Or, perhaps this afternoon if I can’t be bothered to get out of bed before lunch. If that is not stiff enough Iwill have to hunt in the ‘box’.
The trouble with that idea is that normally by the time it have made it into my inner sanctum I have forgotten why I went there.

So lucky to have only the tea spout dribbling. I know not what the pot design is, but I doubt it is the usually large spout that is blocked, but some sort of strainer at the entrance of the spout inside. A damn good rogering with a wire brush is required (probably work for any other dribbling spouts too).

Sorted. Thank goodness. Tweaking with the green wire did the trick after a bit if fiddling about with it.. That means that Incan go back to bed and have my breakfast instead of venturing into te box.
I wish all rodding procedures were that simple. it is more that a week since the operation and the future is looking better.
I suppose that brings me back to I’m alright Jack’s words
( there may be some delay while I see if I can find the passage)

I'll let you into a secret. They have invented something called a teabag. As long as you don't buy them in France they are a viable alternative.

As I wrote in the edit. Crass. IMO one really has to be hanging’ out to let such stuff down one’s throat.

This morning after having had to get up 3 times during the night your advice is quite opportune although not well recieved!

It was all that sexist bitch Victoria’s fault.

I don't know how long Nifty's been married but it's been known since the dawn of time that women think differently to men, perhaps he's just not quick on the uptake.
