Peanut butter but not a make that uses palm oil. Thinly sliced boiled eggs. Mashed avocado.

I'm a bit stumped as to what to spread on crispbread as an alternative to Prim'Frais, St Moret etc. Something reasonably low-fat, low-sugar and low-salt, but not the 'processed' forms of spreads that claim to be one or all of those. The only thing that comes to mind is houmous, but eating garlic for breakfast, while effective at repulsing any lingering vampires, won't gain me any friends So, any ideas? whaaaat !
Breakfast is porridge or smoked saumon with eggs or smoked haddock or beans on toast or boiled egg or or ..... but not crispbread! rafl

Honey? Jam? Or does it have to be healthy stuff? Preferably! I have a spoonful of honey in the morning coffee instead of refined sugar, and although I make jam (out of desperation when there's a glut of fruit), I don't eat it. I'm trying to up my protein consumption while reducing fat and sugar

Reading back over the thread, it's fairly obvious that it's not easy at all! Especially if you buy 'ready' foods, processed stuff etc. Still, I've gleaned some very useful ideas and will also try making some garlic-free houmous (bet that would meet with HM Macron's approval ).

We get a few microscopic thin slices of smoked salmon for a treat at Xmas. Porridge is a treat in the coldest part of winter with a teaspoon of what passes for honey these days. Before our hens went on permanent strike we had eggs in one form or other almost every day. Mrs. A mucked out the hen house today and found an egg. They haven't laid for over a year so I'm wondering how it got there. Too afraid to crack it in case its a very old one we hadn't noticed before.
