I'd love to do one of those DNA test things where they outline your ancesty. My folks were Irish, but like mange tout I was born with original sin There must be at least some viking blood in me.

Do you have to visit the church to look at the records or are they online. A bit of both, there is a lot of info online but you often have to subscribe to one of the various genealogical sites such as this - parishregister.co.uk/

Don't do it. I went back through both sides of my family only to get as far as great-great-grandparents. 15 of them and all their successors were born in Co Down but one great-great-grandfather was born in Ayr.
I know! It could have been worse, he could have been from England. Even so.
