Macron's speech to the nation is Monday 8pm instead of the usual interview with journalists on 14th July.

Will the tighter restrictions be due to a rise in the infection rate? If it is it doesn't surprise me. We went to a couple of boot fairs today and I was amazed how many people were without masks. A couple of them were even coughing freely. Parisians maybe? Generally people around here are pretty good about the mask wearing, even if its only on their chin.

Several friends have messaged saying that with the Delta variant spreading as it does, they’re expecting tightening up to be announced - and asking if we can’t jump across quickly to avoid such new/revised rules. Not possible, sadly.

We have been very impressed with mask wearing in and around shops here in Brittany, the local market on Friday morning appeared that everyone was wearing a mask.
Just returned from a stroll on the beach, no-one was wearing masks (not that they should being outside) but I think we arrived just in time and maybe our 22/8 return may be affected.

People around here are very good at wearing masks - properly, too, but I know that not all places are the same just as in France. Nice to go to the beach.

If people can post what Macron says today at 2000 that would be great, I can watch it on BFM etc, but it will be in French PS if what he says stops us coming over again in aug/sept……..keep quiet 🤐

Seems ok for travel from what I can understand……no difference to what’s current, and he wants all the people to get vaxxed, it’s not going away…..

I thought I heard I’m make reference, pretty much a throw away line, to increasing, or possibility of increasing restrictions on arrivals from some countries…..
wonder if we’ll have to wait to see what’s in the various decrets …

How on earth are they going to enforce the pass sanitaire in restaurants etc. I can just see some of the elderly clients being totally flummoxed, and small restaurants and cafes won't have the technology or staff to handle it.
