I haven' done mine. So fed up with trying to get hold of the tax office (recently moved half an hour away so I can't just pop in). Had a reply to my written message that showed they hadn't even read it. Had enough and will wait until they contact me.

I could not understand or agree with the data online until I read every (?) info box and then realised that different spaces had different categories 1 to 5 by which they assess the value if the space was hired out. I ended up redoing the H1 forms and sending them off to the tax office (as advised by the tax office after my email on the topic). The H1 form Cerfa 6650 can be downloaded online, filled in, printed off and posted.

They are going, or have to in my opinion, to push the deadline back for the months to come. Summer holidays now, the streets of Paris almost empty, the sound of silence in the corridors of the Bercy tower, ict guys enjoying (?) the Méditerannée, not thinking in terms of code, are we going out for dinner tonight, where? The official line is of course, we are infallible, you dear citizens knew it already as from the first of January this year, you are late, so we are very nice with you: another ten days. www.service-public.fr/particuliers/actualites/A16511Elsewhere in the press at least one positive signal: no fines this year. " En connaissance de cause, la DGFiP a décidé de faire preuve de souplesse : les premières amendes, à hauteur de 150€ en cas de déclaration manquantes ou erronées, ne seront pas dressées avant le début d'année 2024. One remark about the not so perfect database of Mr.Taxman himself: I've been reading a lot about errors in the "official" data: wrong code postal, address, names etc. Not easy to change these errors when the "computer says no".
Client blaming I think when reading: " ....en cas de déclaration manquantes ou erronées...."
What about the system itself?

The powers that be have finally acknowledged that this is my house and have entered it under 'Biens Immobiliers' on mon espace particulier so I can at last fill in the Declaration. But it's been so long I can't remember - was it a form sent through the post or will I find it online?
Talk about bashing your head against a brick wall. They sent the latest Taxe Fonciere demand for this address to my old house. Slight improvement on this time last year when they sent demands for both houses to the old address which I sold on 6 December 2021. OOh la la!

You fill it in directly from where you found it under Biens Immobiliers. Thank you. They've got me down as 2 properties at this address. One is 10 sq mtrs. Is it normal to include the garden shed?

I have three; one is the house, another is the grenier (top floor of house- unused) and the third is the cave/workshop. The areas are about right.

Anything over 5 m² has to go though the planning process, so I could imagine that there will be a separate declaration.

Thanks very much. Just wondering about the grading system. If the grading seems surprisingly low, would that be because the previous owner didn't declare improvements?

That seems likely, unfortunately. Friends have found that the previous owners of the property they bought a few months ago didn’t declare a bathroom, a bedroom or the sun-lounge type room. They are not looking forward to the rise in tax, but know it’s coming.

That happened when we bought our house. The previous owners had failed to declare that the ground floor had 2 bedrooms a bathroom and a toilet. Our tax went up by 100%.

This house was rented out for 15 years before I bought it by someone who has several tenanted properties so he couldn't have been ignorant of rules and regs. Do you know if there's any comeback for him when it comes to light?
