Thanks crabtree. I've been putting it off as when I looked our house had two separate entries for the same thing. I must crack on and find out why ..........

The problem is that if your house details are wrong on the site then you have to contact your tax office and ask them to send you a paper form to fill in and return. (It might be called H1, but don't hold me to that ).

Thanks for the nudge. I knew I had to contact them but I've been up to my eyes in trying to get a house sold in the UK and that has been laden with very stressful 'events'.

If you have not already done it, you have a month extra to do it Thank you for that. According to their website I don't have a bien immobilier! So been trying without success to contact the tax office. I needed a reminder. Send them a private message whilst online and detail your problem .. they do respond. Yes, they do respond but sometimes without reading your message! I started my message explaining I wanted to fill in the declaration followed by the fact that I couldn't gerer mon immobilier because no property was showing up. Their response started with "go to gerer mes biens immobiliers" ! Still I was encouraged by the fact the message was from a named person so tried to phone and ask for him. Not an available option. Still trying to get through every now and again to speak to anyone. Last few times it cuts off before even ringing. If at first you don't suceed ...

If you are happy with the tax that you are paying , then just put no change ?

Having briefly cleared my brain of house sale clutter, I turned to the tax form and for the first time ascertained that one of the declarations is for the house and the other for the outbuildings, so I did what Cernunnos suggested and clicked 'No change'. So much easier.
Onwards and upwards and back to my detailed complaint against just about everyone concerned with the sale ............ just as well it's too hot to go out.

So pleased you got your head round your tax form, Veem - I’d been putting it off because of it showing two separate parts until a few weeks ago, but as it showed apartment and garage all became clear.
sorry to read that you’ve had problems with a UK house sale ‘events’ - very stressful.

We received a letter to our uk address on the 20th June telling us that we had to complete the declaration by the end of June. I tried to log in online to impots.gouv.fr as they instructed. It wouldn't let me log in and a message said I needed to go to a centre des finances public to prove my identity. Luckily we are in France this week so went to our nearest centre des finances public. The man there was most helpful. I showed him the letter and a screenshot of the message where i had tried to log in. He called up our account on his computer. He asked if there were any changes and whether it was a maison secondaire. He then completed the declaration for us in a couple of minutes. I asked what we had to do next and he told us he had done it all. He also told us he would send us an email with information so that we could log in to our account in future. The email arrived very shortly after our visit. Fantastic, i was expecting a bit of a battle but it was very easy. Michael

We were having trouble with the form, ie: none of the available options were pertinent, and in some cases were erroneous so left it alone. Later when the income tax stuff had to be done and the same brick wall stopped us doing the tax declaration online we took the biens thing with us to the tax office. About two hours of life lost forever, most of it waiting in a queue, but at least we can sleep well until next year's fiasco.

I tried to complete it but it wouldn’t let me turn off items I had ticked in error. Then I thought about the pool. I’ve already declared it and paid tax when I installed it so I sent the tax office an email to that effect as I was worried it would look like I had two pools when I only have one. I also pointed out that as I had paid the building tax for the pool it should already be in their records. Very confusing.
