Our local lab. in Montreuil does the tests which are free for residents. The 2 day UK one costs about £50 per test. Do folk fully vaccinated in France returning after a visit to the UK need a test? Currently, on their return, French residents, who are fully vaccinated, only need to have a signed attestation that they have not knowingly been in contact with a person with Covid and they are not showing any symptoms. Always subject to change depending what happens on plague island.

I'm not intending to take the day 2 test personally. As I understand it, nobody, you need to book (and pay for) the day2 test before departing for the UK. I suspect nobody knows that… For my planned short trip (3 days ish) I’m looking for the test provider that is slowest at getting the results back…(I think at least one has been mentioned in a previous thread).

You will not be allowed to embark plog if you do not have the required code for the test to enter onto your Passenger Locator form

You will not be allowed to embark plog if you do not have the required code for the test to enter onto your Passenger Locator form I do know that, I can only guess I’m obviously explaining this really badly.. Fully vaccinated… Travel France >UK Fully vaccinated you need a PCR or antigen test prior to boarding service. Yes, you are right, you need the code on the PLF (well and truly checked out on PLFs and similar last year, though I’ll admit not recently) The code confirms you have booked paid for a day two test. That PLF and that code is what Border want to see inbound. I have every intention of taking the day two test but have no intention of chasing the results, reason being… Travel UK> France AFAIK there is currently no requirement to have had the day two test result available to present to the authorities on leaving the UK.. So….How does that sound/does it match with other people’s understanding of how this works ATM?

Hi Can you tell me where you can get the UK test for £50 please. I can't find anything around that price.
One of the gov.uk sites still said you need day 2 and day 8 tests which we know is not true, so I am thoroughly confused.
As we hadn't needed to go to the Uk before, nor wanted to, I am so out of touch with the requirements. I understand that you must order and pay for the 2-day test on the passenger locator form, then it is sent to the address you are staying at? Hope this works if you are staying in a hotel. How, then, do you do the test and return it? Are the results then sent back to you on your phone?
I will ask at our local lab re the departure test. Is it still free for residents?. Presume they are au fait with the test required for travel to UK. Some friends have bought a pack of antigen tests from the pharmacie but are they acceptable for travel?
Sorry if all the above has already been covered somewhere. I have tried to follow the threads. Only now have I managed to get a RV with a periodontist in the UK (no RV available in France until February 2022) so am trying to catch up.
Many thanks

I think I ordered through Testing for All which I have used before and did the job correctly. You order and pay then they send the test kit to a UK address by courier well in time. You enter their number on the Passenger Locator Form. You cant travel without that. When the test has been taken you post it off in a designated letterbox and they email the result; it could be phoned but I am not sure. French test still free for residents, I think. Will find out of Tuesday morning!

Tests required by the ferry, train and airlines before leaving France are generally available at local pharmacies but talking to one of the local pharmacists yesterday they have suddenly become quite busy and if you know your exact departure date it might be worth booking ahead. The tests are free for those registered in the French healthcare system and currently need to be done no more than 48 hours before departure ( there is a suggestion that this may be extended to 72 hours in a few weeks time). For return to France see my post above.

Thank you FFS, I had just looked it up again.
Just a thought: Some letter boxes in London have been designated to receive test packages. Whether this means they are cleared more often I am not sure, nor whether this is true throughout England.

Thanks very much for all that info and name of tester, etc. So much clearer.
One other question: someone told me the day you actually arrive is Day 0 so the 2 day test is not quite so pressing if it is within 2 days after the day of arrival. I cannot find this confirmed anywhere.
