I like the self scan machines. Often much quicker. Of course that doesn't work for a trolley shop.

I've never worked for any company in France that does two hour dinner breaks I had a transport company that would down tools for one and a half hours as they all went off to the local restaurant. It drove our order managers mad not being able to contact them and they complained so much that the contracts manager did not renew the contract.

I used to do occasional work (cheque emploi) for a well-known business person in UK. He was running a successful business consultancy and training organisation. It was interesting to hear about big business from a different viewpoint. Some of the projects he was hearing about were very promising and I asked if any would be introduced to France. He almost laughed. He had been to several high level meetings on the subject and the consensus was "forget France". It seems the bureaucracy and employment laws made it a virtual "no go" area. This was over ten years ago so Pre-Brexit.

If anyone is thinking of turning to Cannibalism, you should try a vegetarian first, apparently they taste better as they are grass fed.

Maybe in a curry. With enough chili powder it might help disguise their "holier than thou" attitude.

Now hang on a minute! Isn't our Suein56 a vegetarienne? She doesn't go on about it and she's certainly not 'holier than thou'. Agreed though that many of the FB types should be put in a field with electric fencing and made to eat grass for the rest of their lives

My niece, always the attention-seeker and desperately precious, has decided to go vegan with all the fervour of the convert. It won't last, of course. She's not doing it for moral or ethical reasons, just for the self-righteousness.
I understand vegetarianism and sympathise with the aim of reducing animal cruelty. I see veganism as the military wing!

What she doesn't do is pontificate about it and post how the rest of us are causing the end of the world like others do.

I see veganism as the military wing! Reducing animal cruelty is admirable and should be the goal but many animals would be on the verge of extinction if they were not being bred for the table. Things that don't produce a monetary result for someone tend to disappear pretty quickly. A shame that principle doesn't ring true with financial advisors.

I have always advocated to breed large cats for their fur , that way they would not be endangerd, but the animal rights folk , think otherwise.

I'd advocate shooting the barstewards who have endangered them in the first place, whether they're rich westerners on 'safari' or the locals that pander to them.

It wasn't the safaris that made big cats endangered . It is the local human breeding habits .

Yes , they do , but that is their downfall too! It's easier to catch a young man /girl than it is to catch a deer but will end in tears.
