I'm told the government will be seeking to change the laws (to suit their own agenda). Pretty much true to form for the Conservatives in recent years.
I must have been distracted when democracy, integrity, and the rule of law went out of fashion.

And what will you say when France, Germany et al start to try to send them to other third countries? Borders checks springing up all over Europe inc all French entry and exit points. Schengen now being seen for the dangerous open door policy it always was.

I think Garbo is gazing into his Crystal balls again. On first glance I missed the word Crystal.

I think Garbo is gazing into his Crystal balls again. Easily done when they're just in front of the orifice he speaks out of.

Try reading various media outlets instead of the "Beano and Dandy" as its appears that countries are getting fed up having no control over their own borders.

As spectrum says there are rumblings growing ever louder over the free movement of persons within the European borders. To mention but one .. www.lesechos.fr/monde/europe/espace-schengen-la-libre-circulation-remise-en-question-par-les-controles-1982365#:~:text=Aujourd'hui%2C%20les%20justifications%20sont,mai%20au%2031%20octobre%202023.

Wake up Garbage. This is nothing new and France was the first to apply the rule in October 2006. At the Spanish/French border quote Youth Days of radical young Basques in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle and demonstration organised in Bayonne by the support committee of Philippe Bidart. FR-ES land border (border crossing point on the highway A63 in Biriatou, St Jacques bridge, Béhobie bridge, Hendaye station) unquote

Stop burying your head in the sand and see the reasons these countries have introduced the measures. Temporary becomes permanent so easily when the EU is involved. Time will tell. By the way I haven’t insulted you by childish name calling. Is it something you should seek help with?
