Has anyone on here visited a café/restaurant or anywhere else where they were asked for their health pass yet? Very early days, I know.

Yes, asked for when attending a village concert on July 31st. I think they were expecting more than 50, which was the rule then. Several of our local restaurants have said they will be checking from today.

I reported here that health passes were required for us to enter a showground for ancient agricultural machines in our little commune yesterday (Sunday 8th Aug). QR codes on our phones scanned by steward & entry given in seconds. Those without proof were turned away.
It's deffo happening so if you want to go anywhere, best get yerself sorted.

In booking restaurants this week I was told entry on possession of qr code only. And these restaurants are little local routiers.

I take it you're referring to the below: The first week, as just seen on the news, the police will be indulgent (complaisant), but they will enforce things subsequently. Doubt about documentation used means, I imagine, using a pass sanitaire that isn't yours, which rightly needs to be enforced.

We needed a pass sanitaire when visiting Lascaux last week and also for entry to an animal park and a plage éphémère.
It only became necessary for restaurants and cafés from this morning so no experience of that yet.

Is this "health pass" something new or is it just the thing you can download from the Amelie site with the QR code in the corner? We won't be going to any restaurants but we might go to a boot fair if there is one near enough.

No, there's nothing new.
The Ameli attestation with a QR code is your health pass (pass sanitaire).

Asked for our pass when we went for coffee in a large complex today. We were the only ones sitting in the cafe.

Not asked for one yesterday at a small village cafe. Asked for one today by a cafe with tables on the square of a provincial town, and again by a small auberge in the side streets of same town.

Went to a plant fair yesterday. First time out at anything like a "normal" event for goodness knows how long. They scanned the QR code on the downloaded thingy from Ameli - no problem at all.
What may reassure @ally is that people with a non-EU pass were handed over to their "expert" who dealt with UK and US stuff fine - it took a wee bit longer but not much. There are always a LOT of Brits at plant fairs

My husband called in at one of the local (tiny) cafés today and the owner told him that the gendarmes had just been round. One of their customers didn't have a health pass. He was told off and warned that this time he wouldn't get a fine but next week they wouldn't be as lenient.

There are always a LOT of Brits at plant fairs I'm sure on the ground everything will be fine. I just thought the spokesperson's language was unnecessarily hostile. Maybe lost in translation.
