OK. I was wrong, there are two LNBs. 😃 This is the box that receives both U.K. and French programmes.

I cannot see any reference, or more importantly, a logo for Freesat® which is what Hal asked for in his first post. That box is FTA not Freesat®. The difference is great.

Does that change what I wrote? You can play with trade marks as much as you like but I still did the hoovering with a Dirt Devil and that box allows both U.K. programmes and French programmes to be watched from the single dish. I’m sure you are trying t9 make a point but it’s beyond me. The information I’ve provided matches the OP’s needs, isn’t that the important thing?

The information I’ve provided matches the OP’s needs, isn’t that the important thing? Had that been the case then it would be so. But, and you carefully avoided the OP's needs, it does not supply the OP's requirement of "UK Freesat".

Excuse my ignorance but I was working in the assumption that whereas he had provided British TV for his British guests he now wanted to provide French TV for his French guests. I presume that’s not sufficient for you. My crime is suggesting a simple solution that works. Do you really have a problem with that or do you just enjoy making trouble for no reason whatsoever?

Surely if you are buying a new ‘smart’ tv, can you not get all your tv needs via the internet, I bet most of your customers will have a Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV etc which would satisfy most kids.
Or if you do, you could make it available in your gites.

There is no terrestrial reception where I am so I have had to use the extravagant solution of two dishes with quad LNBs and TNTsat and Freesat boxes. Lots of wires and two boxes for each of the four TVs. A right royal mess!

We have TNT (by satellite). The basic channels install easily but then you can do a full search and lots of other channels appear (the shop can explain when you buy a box) including BBC World and other news programmes in in English, plus German, Spanish and other languages. We do not have UK tv at all.

I am still weighing up some ideas on all this.
Will someone be able to remind me what type of TV is required to receive TNT on a terrestrial aerial please? There was a change some years back and I know that my panasonic TVs with integrated Freesat tuner had PAL or similar and this did not pick up the changed TNT.
I am thinking maybe new Samsung with integrated Freesat tuner, if it had a compatible platform for terrestrial TNT would solve the problem for both UK and French visitors..?

That is exactly the set up I have in my loft room. Works a treat. Though might not be a Samsung, currently not at home to check.

You won't get a TV in France with built in Freesat, it will just be a normal satellite tuner. If you want Freesat tuner in a TV it will have to come from UK. All new French TVs come with the usual TNT tuner through the antenna.

Our small lounge tv is an LG with Freesat inside, we have had it for some years and is not a Smart tv and it doesn’t record. I also have a freesat box with a 1 tb memory which I record UK tv a bring with us when we travel. I can record UK tv whilst here via my very old Sky satellite dish. Ideally if would want a smart TV with an inbuilt freesat recorder but I don’t think it exists yet. Also Freesat sell direct and my 1TB box was a refurbished box from them with a guarantee and either £129 or £149…a bargain in my book.

I appreciate that one cannot buy a TV here that will have a Freesat tuner. I was hoping I could find a TV in the UK with just a digital Freesat tuner, but parallel to your replies, looking online this might not be so. They all seem to have a Freesat and a Freeview tuner through the antenna. Understandable of course. I guess a Freeview tuner is in no way compatible with TNT broadcast...?
So I am going to need a box - either one to get Freesat on a french TV or one to get TNT on a UK TV, yes?

A Freeview tuner will allow you to receive terrestrial (not satellite) TNT. However, I'm not sure and I vaguely remember, you may only get "now and next" not the full programme guide?
