You might have problems coming to France after mid December. Javid says the booster jab will not be added to your health pass. It is not a requirement for travel to France. Other countries are bringing it in it will happen here as we have to learn to live with covid.

Thanks for the link, Mysty. I had been thinking I was the only person whose booster was not showing up on the NHS app, and wondering how I could check. Ridiculous situation; something will have to happen, or all those politicians are going to find their own fun limited on their Christmas trips abroad. Thanks for the thanks but I stole it from ats. I don't normally read that many sensible articles but did post about the Austrian brothel that offers 30 minutes with a girl of your choice if you take a covid jab. 😄

I didn't know that, I might have to rethink my decision to not have the booster, what countries will France be joining who are refusing entry unless you have had double vaccinations and a booster?

But a requirement to enter France is proof of vaccination with the AntiCovid pass or paper versions of it. If France requires its over 65s to have a booster included in the pass then will they not require foreign visitors over 65 entering France to have the same?

I am not the person to ask, the OP may have the inside information.
I'll answer anyway as you ask, France is not "requiring" it's over 65's to have a booster vaccination as in obligatory, any more than it required them to have the vaccination, as a carrot and stick approach without a vaccination and soon a booster they are not be able to frequent boîtes de nuit, bars etc, even then they could were they minded to by having a lateral flow test done at their pharmacy, free initially and then chargeable.
I don't know if that is still the case as I am even less tempted to visit these places than an over 65 year old. I did however visit a bar and 2 restaurants with friends I stayed with the last fortnight, I never needed to use my pass sanitaire even once.

Austria and Israel are the first to say you will need the booster.

That's the opposite of what we have found, we have been as far away as Carcassonne this week looking at properties. Every cafe or restaurant and even mcdoos want to see the pass to get served. The only cafe not to ask for the pass is our local which has seen it a few times now.

I'm sure that is the case for all of France aside from this special area, the Indian resto scanned the passes because they were presented but I don't think they would have asked, mine had been through the washing machine so was unscannable and unreadable & they were not concerned, the other 2 places weren't asking and one certainly would have been very put out to have to scan a pass presented to them.
After getting used to the laissé faire attitude, hearing English and not French spoken and also having been in England before going there (and back again today) I forgot where I was and started walking into shops, Autoroute services etc without a mask, I stopped at the LeClerc café for a coffee and saw the sign asking for the pass sanitaire so did a U turn instead, maybe they would not have asked, I did not want to hassle them with my 1/2 scale sodden washed laminated pass.

you should stay in that "special area" as you would seem to fit in perfectly..

So they (france) can employ "agents" to control but the companies cannot afford to pay someone to check.. Lovely... Says a lot about the country..

As others have said it’s not yet clear…we don’t know. We know about the changes to the rules for the passé sanitaire, which as we are aware govern access to places whilst in country.. OTOH so far there’s been no published change (that I can find) to the definition of fully vaccinated for the purposes of entering France.

Thank you for not answering. You knew exactly what was meant and took "requiring" out of context in relation to the question.
In view of the possibilty that the bar and restaurants you visited are in the UK any comment on your lack of pass would be presumptuous.

I find it strange that passes aren’t being asked for in some areas. In my recent travels I have only not been asked once and that’s in a local place that I eat in regularly. They didn’t ask the day before yesterday when we turned up for our reserved table and the owner was a bit embarrassed because there were no tables free and was more concerned with putting that wrong right. At a nearby bar we were recently told that we could not have a drink on the empty outside terrace because one of us did not have their pass. A five minute car ride put that right.
