I know la boucherie chevaline is still going strong in some parts of the country, but it has never appealed to me.

I have only seen it on a menu once and that was 18 years ago. Our local supermarket always had it for sale, but it's now been a good 3-4 years since I saw any.
Tonight we shall have the remains of the roast beef joint from yesterday with fresh vegetables and gravy.

We had the rest of yesterday’s beef bourguignon with potato cakes and tomatoes.
Horse meat is very popular around here still, the horse meat butcher has a permanently long queue at his stall each Saturday at the market. Viande de taureau is also very popular.
surprisingly there’s a new butcher here who opened since we were last here, which makes four, one of which we’ve bought at regularly for years, a surprising number in a town with a population of around 10,000 (although I think that’s out of date as quite a number of new blocks of flats have appeared since we bought about 14 years ago) but there are many restaurants in and around town.

I dont know what is wrong about eating horse, its a very lean meat and usually full of flavour, we tend to have it in the summer, steaks of it on the barby. Tonight's tea is home made Chinese Beef Curry, been in the slow cooker overnight as its shin beef.

Too knackered to cook, so leftover roast beef, pots, Yorkshire pud and freshly cooked Brussels with lashings of horseradish sauce. I'm starting to miss OH's BBQs already

Left over cold roast beef, fresh horseradish sauce, potato salad, cold roasted beetroot from the garden, tomatoes and green salad. I am getting over the worst case of stomach flu I’ve ever had and my appetite is off the scale…….

Glad to see like myself lots of leftovers being used up, when I was at work I was always amazed how much stuff, including meat from Sunday, uneaten chicken etc just got binned by my obviously wealthier colleagues I think they just didn’t know what to do with it.

Never seen it here in England.
