What are the current requirements for travel to the UK and return from the UK to France? Outbound leg anticipated Sunday. My OH went back to UK yesterday, he took a covid test at our pharmacy in France, had the results in 10 minutes. PLF form still required. His DFDS trip went well, as for his return in 2 weeks, I'll check up on latest guidelines just before. Have a safe trip pcpa

Still confused which is why I asked the question, the rules are being relaxed on the 11th but from what I can see at present I don't need to take a test at a pharmacie before travelling but I must have prebooked a test for arrival in the UK. www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19#international-travel-rules-until-11-february-2022Did your husband have to take the pharmacie test MOTM2?
LPT, I use Ambafrance etc for the requirements coming to France and prefer to use the UK government ones for travel to the UK although they require lots of page hopping and its easy to make a mistake, hence the reason for my request on here.
Anyone else travelled recently? Woolybanana perhaps? What hoops did you have to jump through?

As far as the information from the above link is concerned, it isn't a requirement to travel to the UK from France Les voyageurs disposant d’un schéma vaccinal complet ne sont pas soumis à l’obligation de réaliser un test avant leur départ. Ils doivent, au passage de la frontière, outre le "passenger locator form", apporter la preuve d’achat d’un test PCR ou antigénique à réaliser au plus tard deux jours après l’arrivée sur le territoire

I do not know if the UK counts boosters as "fully vaccinated" but normally there is a waiting period after your last injection to become "fully vaccinated". 10-14 days is the norm.

I think in France it's 7 days after the third injection before the Pass Vaccinal is validated; that's what both my wife and I were told at the time of the third.

The girl made a mess of explaining something along those lines saying that I would not be able to print my certificate for a week, not 5 minutes later they themselves presented me with a printed one and said that I could go now, I had not even served one minute of the mandatory 20 minute observation time.
As theirs was black & white I tried to print the colour version at home on my return and it worked.
Its possible that the App might refuse my scanned card at a resto for 7 days, I had no intention of visiting one.
Thanks for all the responses. I'm glad that I don't have to embêter the pharmacienne this time.

This seems quite clear: If you do not qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England, you must take a COVID-19 test before you travel to England from abroad. If you do qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England, you do not need to take a test before travel. www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-testing-for-people-travelling-to-englandI had my 3rd vaccination last Friday. Thanks for the link. You must have a test within 24 hours of depart to return to France. When does your depart time start? When you leave the NW England or leave Portsmouth on the ferry?

I dont live in the north now travel from Portsmouth but I had the same question when travelling during the Operation Stack chaos and DFDS's mistakes meant I was delayed 4 hours taking me outside of the 48 hours of my covid test.
The clock stops ticking when you embarque, in my case I had to drive out, drive in again and go through the same contrôles, thankfully they were not checking the documents, I could have waved any piece of headed paper at them and another looking like a Vaccination certificate with a QR code which they did not inspect or scan.
I have just booked my crossing for Saturday evening, I hope by the time I return to France that there will no longer be the 48 hour dash for testing and travel.

Yes I think so, because regulations change on 11 Feb in UK, so if travelling to UK before (which you are) you need this test

I would not rely on the French site for up to date information for (non resident) UK citizens travelling to the UK, however having checked the UK Gov sites I would say it is correct and I will not be having a test before travelling on Saturday but will be booking a day 2 test in the UK.
I think (please check) that if I wasn't fully vaccinated then I would have needed a test.
After the 11th the requirements will be relaxed.
I dont know the requirements for returning to France, at present its irrelevant to me as I wont be back for a week or two and things change very quickly.

Are you saying that if we take the 8.30 ferry we have to have had our test results after 8.30 the previous day? You must have a negative test result from a test taken less than 48 hours before your embarquation. That was the situation for me when I last returned on the 16th of December, at that time a PCR test with certified printed result was acceptable.
