This property came up for sale on Monday, I sent an email and text off to them within an hour of it going online saying I would buy it. I assumed wrongly I was too late as they came back late in the day saying they would phone me at the end of the day. No call, but the following morning they called. I said we can view today but they said Friday was there first available appointment. I confirmed we would buy and the sale was agreed and advert came down. They sent through the google address, its in a nice position with nicer houses all around, this was the only wreck but compared to what we normally buy its like a new build. Needs some roof tiles replaced crepî replaced at the back and internal clean up re wire bla bla bla and has oil central heating. The owner died a couple of months ago and they just priced it to sell which is way under what its worth,10 hour drive on Friday.

You could guess the price and win a prize. ☺

You could guess the price and win a prize. 80,000? I know that's a lot more than you normally fork out but it is a veritable palace in comparison and with attractive properties all around should sell for a good price after the tidying up you plan.

This price is amazing for a house near the Swiss border where many French people go to work and earn much more than in France.

It's an amazing price for a house anywhere in France for it's age and condition. Might be no use for jumping across the border for work I viamichelined it, 2 hours from Switzerland looked closer on the map

Ah, too far then, but ok for folk who work short weeks or who want a weekend retreat, not counting those who ‘camp’ in Switzerland during the week.

Is the sous-sol the same area as the house? What is the superficie habitable? Asking on behalf of ALBOF! Why do these pictures not enlarge when you click on them like most others on the forum?

Will have proper pictures tomorrow, it is detached. The plan is from the property reports, it has four bedrooms I had not looked before and a full sous sol. If you click this picture it will get bigger.

A veritable bargain, good result. I like 'viamichelined' as a word.

Wow! That is even bigger than the front view suggested, the rear view made it look tiny.
The house that I am buying is very similar, sous-sol, veranda etc, 30% smaller, nearly 5 times the price, in a terrible condition requiring top to bottom renovation to make it habitable and I thought I had a bargain!!!!
I am paying for "emplacement, emplacement, emplacement" and potential though.
My sous-sol is not semi-enterré so has full height doors & windows.
Something looks odd between the photos and the floor plan, the entrance stairs are shown from the back underneath the small centre window, maybe the door is hidden by the bushes (its a very small photo) but there doesn't seem to be a path to the door if it is there.
I can see a couple of walls that you will no doubt be removing
