We have just returned from our local pharmacie having been given our fifth Covid jab. They said it is on the rise again but OK in our area now as it stands but we are off South and then in to Spain where outbreaks have occurred, so we have been told.

I'm pretty pissed off that I can't get a booster here even if I was willing to pay, I don't consider myself as vulnerable but having had Covid I'd rather reduce my chances of getting it again.

Could you have had a booster if you still lived in France? At what age can people have them there? I believe it’s offered to over-65s plus those in a clinical risk group amongst others, such as those living in care homes in the UK.

Yes, we would have to pay just like the flu jab but I think it's worth it.

We do not travel until first thing on Monday. Our house is some 3 hours west of Marrakesh (on the coast), rumbles were felt, but no damage has been reported so far. The CCTV in the house shows no damage inside, or out and the street also. I thank you for your concern.

UPDATE Just been in touch with the rellies who live very, very close to the centre of activity who are living on one of their farms, Berber stylee, in a tent, for the summer. Apart from being awoken in the night, nothing to report.
Have already booked an appointment to give blood on Tuesday morning, but that would be normal for any of my visits, but now seemingly more pertinent.

Apparently things look to be changing in your favour: Covid vaccine: Ministers consider booster jabs for over-50s to protect the NHS this winter The Government is looking at a potential measures in case there is a surge in both Covid and flu cases and is already increasing surveillance of the virus Sorry, it’s in the ‘i’, and I can’t post it on here for some reason. I’m hoping to get it in France - I’m flying out on Monday. I had the flu jab this week at our local pharmacy, but only GP practices are holding Covid booster sessions at the moment. Our GPs are working their way through patients in care homes and those who are housebound, so we’d probably be contacted towards the end of the week or early next week. I assume I’ll need to make an appointment with our local GP.

Just had our 5th Covid - it would have been 6th but we got the dreaded covid last December.
I am surprised that flu jab is being offered already. No sign here and I would not expect anything for at least a month (usually mid October before the vaccine is at the pharmacy) but waiting 'til November - best mid to late November - is a good move.

I normally have my flu jab in early November, but as dates have been brought firward and not Covid boosters, I thought it best to have whst was on offer. If I can gave a booster (sixth vaccination), so much the better.
