Not read the article, but as with everything in the news it’s always difficult for the ordinary punter to get to the truth of the matter, whatever the story. I’ve read this morning the French are saying there aren’t enough kiosks at Dover to ensure free flow of traffic, however you look at it, it does seem odd that on possibly the busiest day of the year half their team didn’t report for work. The British Government should also have foreseen this and provided facilities for people stuck in their car for hours along the road, especially with children, how many toilet breaks do they need in the average journey? But I guess all those involved in making Britain great again have flown off to their villas in Tuscany for the holidays.

It seems that only four out of 12 passport checking points on the French side had someone in it. It has happened before and is quite deliberate.

No, because it is the holiday season and the French border control folk like their holidays like anyone else. They work in teams who take shifts but putting two teams on at the same time would not occur to them.

Team brexit wanted control of the borders and signed up for the public to get the same checks as Turks. Passports checked and stamped. For an ex teacher your not very bright.

As a ferry builder you need to read a little more! Even the French have admitted that the problem was that their teams were apparently delayed by a problem in the Tunnel and so arrived at least an hour late which caused a build up of traffic. They have not yet admitted that they miscalculated the number of checkers needed. By the way the French have never allowed the Brits to check passports for them.

It's the same old " blame game " Only one country to blame , that one that left the EU . The situation at Dover is back to how it was before the UK joined the EU , a lot have forgotten that, and were used to just riding on and off the ferry . Dover port is too small to accomodate the passengers having to wait that want to board the ferries. Decrease the number of ferries to suit te time-flow. Why should the EU ( French ) accomodate the British trying to cross the channel all in one go ? The French Douanes don't worry about making people wait , they see it as their duty

Getting Brexit done. A sound bite. Freedom of movement. Not a sound bite. I hope that clears it up for the hard of thinking.

So they vote for brexit, want nothing to do with the EU and then start hollering because they cannot leave their island? What does brexitland expect?
I do not think the French owe brexitland anything. Four booths are manned you say? I ask why so many?

If only there were some sort of Pan-european agreement to allow member countries' citizens to move freely across borders. Has anyone heard of such a thing? Might be worth joining.
