Is there a bathroom/plumbing place I can visit in France rather than mail order? I need to get a overflow/waste exit for a bath, brico places are quite basic with plastic stuff, and delivery is after we go back now.

Bath & sink wastes are pretty much 100% plastic and have been for decades, is it something specific that you are looking for like exposed brass fittings for a cast iron bath with the ornamental feet?

Wendel, Tereva and Frans Bonhomme do more specialised stuff.

Leroy or Castorama stock Grohé taps , they are the best on the European market , those that I have installed have never failed.

Who in their right minds would market a high end bathroom accessorie under the name "Crawley"? I say that as someone born and raised there!

Aubade or Cedeo are professional plumbing merchants, not sure if they are nationwide

What's wrong with Crawley ? Easier to ask what is right with it
It's not somewhere you would associate with high end luxury goods.

If looking online use "Reuters" not the news agency but a German company that has high quality products, Hansa/ Grohe/ Hansgrohe etc. Have bought a fair bit of up market pieces and very pleased with everything.

You should be OK with Leroy Merlin, but just a tip for future reference, JD. When you need pro building/trade stuff, many outlets are only open in the week. It's changing very gradually and some companies open on a Saturday morning now, but on the whole, it's Mon-Fri only. Oh and shut for two hours at lunchtime
