OK, I'll start:
1. Incorrect use of the apostrophe. (For example, the plural of day is days not day's.)
2. Potholes.
3. People who chat in shop doorways.

Disagree. Can be much quicker for when you don't have too many items.

The only good thing I can imagine about them is that you don't (I assume) get stuck behind some old dear taking ages to find her chequebook, etc. and having a long chat with the cashier.
I have never used one myself but have noticed there is a always a member of staff keeping a sharp eye open for all those shoplifters and con artists the French appear to be plagued with.

I would use them if there was a reduction in price for having done the cashiers job, I see them as profit boosters for companies and a way of getting rid of staff and cash so that the supermarkets don't have to pay out for securicor.

You get stuck because the machine won't accept your card

Think again 😀 when you put you bag of two apples or turnips on the scale you then have to know if it's a fruit or a veg and what type of fruit or veg it is 😃 then do you have a loyalty card and how do you want to pay. It is easy after you have done it a couple of times but you might be quicker at stuck behind the old dear with her cheque book 😀

Well, you know how there are @ 99 waves that lap up the beach within carefully-observed limits, and there's the 100th ***** that comes rushing up, drowns your book, snatches one sandal and leaves eveything covered in wet sand. That really pees me off! 😁 Didn t get the beach bag though.. Ha!

Did I complain when you were gallivanting round Oz? Did I ? Got a few more days yet and I’m reliably informed that the weather’s set to improve by then

But you usually have to weigh your fruit and veg before you go to the cashier anyway in most supermarchés. When you get to the auto cashier it's already weighed.
