My brain suddenly resurrected a clear but a very distant (and up to now undisturbed) memory of taking money to junior school to pay (I think) into a Post Office scheme. I recall that we paid for stamps (value 12/6d?) and stuck those onto a savings card. Did those perhaps transfer into Premium Bonds?
Anyone else remember such a thing?
Sue thanks for that suggestion. I've just gone round in circles a couple of times on the PB headquarters site. I'll have another look in a bit.

I remember cards but I feel the stamps we bought were 2/6d .. which was a lot of money in the mid nineteen fifties. I had a look at the NSandI site and, as you say, it is a nightmare composed of roundabouts. But, hidden somewhere I am sure, there must be a way to contact someone to ask for help.

Goodness knows where that extra 10 bob came from! I actually meant 2/6, and even that was a lot of money back then. I tried to open an account to trace any bonds and got as far as receiving a confirmation email but it didn't have the expected confirmation link to click on, so I haven't really got anywhere as yet.

Some time after my first attempt, a confirmation email with a link arrived in my inbox. From then it was comparatively easy to enter all the information requested. I should now allow 365 days for searches to take place and for me to be informed of the result! Well, I haven't known for around 70 years, so another one shouldn't make much difference!

However, I don’t know if my one bond is used in the draw. You can always hope .. I suppose the way to check that is, as elsie says, to contact them as above and use their 'track and trace' element to see if they have your current address. My son's few premium bonds have never won him anything tho I have kept his address current with NSandI.
