The French govt seems to have said that folk entering France from outside the EU must test either within 24 or 48 hours of arrival. It is to the cost of that test that I was referring. They used to be free but that was withdrawn and testing dropped badly. That is such a surprise.

For both financial and practical reasons a Zeebrugge crossing is a definite consideration, I would take a self test before and after arrival in any case.
Isn't Hull-Zeebrugge now the only UK ferry route to Zeebrugge ?

P&O ferries is the only one doing Zeebrugge-Hull, but not for long......From their website:" Zeebrugge to Hull As from 1 January 2021 we will stop our passenger service between Zeebrugge and Hull. You can of course still reach England safely and conveniently by ferry via our services from Calais to Dover and from Rotterdam to Hull. "

Wishfull thinking on my part it would seem, according to Google there was only a weekly service from Hull to Zebrugge, I'm stuck in the past thinking that there would still be a Dover to Ostende service.

Yep, tests required both ways now, but at least both can be antigen (of the correct type)

The directions that I gave for Express Testing at Gatwick are no longer correct, they have moved to the Perimeter Road South, access is from the Lowfield Heath roundabout on the A23 South of Gatwick, North of Crawley.
Good views of all the mothballed planes and the runways but you will be lucky to see any planes taking off unlike before Covid when it was 3 times a minute.

The Connexion is today saying .....France reviews stricter rules for UK arrivals:Reinforced measures may be necessary, says government spokesperson Gabriel Attal, as reported cases of the Covid variant Omicron rise rapidly in the UK........
Has anyone heard what might be the new rules at all? we leave on Saturday......hopefully

It would only be speculation, perhaps isolation on return once again which makes little or no difference to me at either end now, life has become (even more) isolation. Perhaps lateral flow tests will no longer be acceptable for entry to France from non EU countries.
I have just returned from giving my lateral flow test sample, should have the results in 10 minutes or so, I'm travelling to France on Thurday afternoon, I took a home test a few days ago before booking this one and the ferry, I would be very suprised if todays one is positive as I've not been in contact with or proximity to anyone.
Cases in France will rise as quickly as the UK, there may be a lag of a week or so.

Has anyone heard what might be the new rules at all? we leave on Saturday......hopefully There isn't too much more the French government could do other than ban Brits completely from entry (except residents of course) or insist on self isolation for say 7 or 10 days. I wouldn't stress too much about arriving this weekend as I would assume any new restrictions will come in next week.
