Am I right in still thinking if we arrive in France at 1800 tomorrow night, the new restrictions will not apply? The new rules start at midnight on Saturday here in France ..

Are they separate lanes to the non truck traffic do you know?
Shuttle now shows Friday with a no entry type sign, where as Thursday and Saturday have time slots etc, so I have a booking for tomorrow, but not sure what is happening, Im in a queue of online chat with them....number 365 in the q
Hi JD there is 22.45 crossing with BF Ports-Caen with availability tonight that gets you in a 07.45 tomorrow morning. www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/booking/choose-crossing/outboundThanks so much for that AP, we dont even have any antigen tests at the moment and are both working this afternoon, so thats even tighter than the tunnel tomorrow afternoon, I reall do appreciate you looking though our antigens are booked at 1030 tomorrow morning, but if access to the terminal is blocked, its all pointless, we may not even bother with the tests tomorrow if we cant get to Folkstone

Missed crossing despite arriving 90 minutes early, now another hour and half wait for next boat. P&O systems again won't recognise car plate, passport or booking ref. You can drive past trucks but then you find for P&O you should have been in their far left lane, by then too late & you have to leave port & do all the queuing again then at their check in they can't find you and you have to go to the truck drivers reception for a manual booking.
Last time French border control did not give me the A4 white S card and I was again sent out of the port to queue again, my COVID test will have expired before I embark.
They say it has been a Bordel all week with a very high level of freight traffic, so far there has been little tourist traffic, they say tomorrow will be much worse with the sudden rise of tourist bookings and the extra checks.

That's a nightmare. But at least you know you will be allowed home as a Resident. But for the likes of JohnnyD it's a race against time. Good luck to both of you.

For me it's all part of travelling & to be expected. But the changes, the hoop jumping & the uncertainty will create major stress for others.

Should I expect the same delays ? ie. is access to the trains via the same roads you are talking about? We don't use the tunnel very often so not sure of the routes/access etc, we will be coming up the M4 if we do try.......

The tunnel should be easier, only one operator.
Problem today was cars could not get past the stack to take the exit.
My later ferry should depart now, nothing has even embarked.

Berthed & waiting for hatch to open, been 30 minutes so there must be a problem.
First time I have ever wished my hearing loss was more advanced, coachloads of chav families on their way to Eurodisney.

Let's hope for Eurodisney that they're either vaccinated or negative.

Bordel at Folkestone and Dover. Operation Stack in place, miles of truck tailbacks. Pcpa, do you have any link as to where you got this info please? All traffic news I have looked at suggests your post may be incorrect with traffic flowing normally. Are you being unnecessarily alarmist at a time when people travelling have enough to worry about ?

Yes, it sounds like his mistake at missing the turnoff turned into complete hysteria at the ports for everyone ( fake news)

Mr M has missed that turnoff in the past, it's not particularly good, he found himself heading towards London!
