The last frozen Charlie Bigham chicken and ham pie from Waitrose. Since January when M2H had to close and my monthly grocery delivery ended, I've been unable to buy any more. This pie was a pie for one but tonight we shared it. And very nice it was too. We might have a Haagen Dazs icecream in a while.

Two days ago it was so cold I made a large pot of stew. So we're having the rest for dinner tonight even though it's now way up in the 30s ........

We had salmon with ginger, chips and peas for lunch. I was busy making ice cream in the mixer, so it fitted in nicely round that. Nectarine ice cream for dessert later.
I haven’t made ice cream for years and years, but we had most of a carton of cream left over and a couple of very ripe nectarines, so ice cream seemed a good idea. Of course, I had to try it, licked all the spoons - it’s delicious!

Made a tian - sliced potato, tomato, courgette, onion with added mozzarella (partially cooked the slices of potato and courgette in the microwave to reduce baking time). Nice with a couple of slices of jambon cru.

I made these NI pancakes this morning...thought I'd post a photo to make jsks jealous! They are a bit thin, but taste good! View AttachmentMy grandmother in Strandtown would get a bottle of buttermilk each morning and what wasn't used for cooking we would have to drink. Great soda bread, pancakes etc but a revolting drink. BTW she also made the world's best mince and tatties.

It's a long time since we had a roast, but tonight we're having roast pork fillet with cauliflower cheese, coco beans, new potatoes, apple sauce and stuffing. I'm looking forward to it, but shan't manage to eat even a half ......
Those pancakes look delicious Crystal.

I had to look up coco beans, Veem, I've only known them here as haricots blancs.

Links for pcpa, StV? They don't appeal to me, I'm afraid.
