We have used this company for our day 2 and 8 tests, day 2 was OK, although the result was 3 days late, but neither of us can activate the day 8 barcodes, so currently our tests are in the post with the barcode attached, but not referenced to anyone at all, so we cant get any results.
On googling reviews for them i found this......
Its not looking good for us.......

He had to go and get a drive through test, waiting 24 hours for the result. His company bought a batch lot of these tests that are now obsolete. Good luck Jonny

This company is meant to be on the government’s approved sites, but I don’t know where I find that out, that would give us some clout when the covid police ring tomorrow

When the covid police ring tomorrow. I would explain the situation to them. Tell then that you need definitive advice within 24 hours and if that is not forthcoming then all restrictions become nul and void. If the government and their appointed representatives cannot abide by the rules then neither should you.

Johnny I’m reluctant to play the barrack room lawyer but of course the official line is: “Before you travel to England you must: take a COVID-19 test book and pay for day 2 and day 8 COVID-19 travel tests – to be taken after arrival in England complete a passenger locator form. …. On arrival in England you must: quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8” Sounds to me as if you’ve done all you can to comply with the above……….. Guidance on entering UK from Amber list country.
As for the behavior of the testing company itself, looks like as usual when it comes to things like this HMG have got sloping shoulders: “The government does not endorse or recommend any specific test provider - you should do your own research about them and their terms and conditions.” Finding a test provider

Can we legally leave home to do that? I believe you can legally leave home to do a test. but after 10 days' quarantine, surely you are clear anyway? If you want a confirmatory clear test, does any of your local U.K. chemists do testing? Mine does. or you could pick up a free 10-pack of rapid flow tests there, and check yourselves.

Th legal situation is that you have to have a pre-booked PCR test by an authorised tester - which has to be pre-authorised before you travel. So if the Gov approved pre-authorised tester cocks up then whatever get out of free jail paragraph the government uses is like pre-used toilet paper.

I was sorry to read about your problem, Johnny, a difficult time for you when you worked at getting everything right. a Wnich? report from April makes very interesting reading on the subject of missing test results. it states: “The government has said that everybody should get tests on time but, as long as you’ve paid for a test, you can leave quarantine after 14 days if you haven’t had results. It also said that in exceptional circumstances the NHS may issue free tests to people who’ve purchased a test through a private company but not received it. Call 119 to enquire. If you haven’t received a test you’re entitled to a refund, but the companies we’ve looked at say they won’t give a refund if results are delayed.” Read more: www.which.co.uk/news/2021/04/test-for-travel-system-cant-cope-with-demand-even-before-the-return-of-holidays/ - Which?”

That’s good to know Gigi, we will talk to the covid police today and see what they advise also, the whole thing seems a complete scam, there are many so called 2-8 day companies that seem to be scams, some of them listed on the gov website

Sorry my comment last night perhaps wasn’t that helpful…point I was trying to make was that you’d done “your bit”…and as others have said you can leave isolation to take a test.

Well looks like we are both completely stuffed, no one knows what to do, the advice is ....we are free after 14 days, we can't leave the house before then, we could book another day 2-8 test with another company at a price, but that would take 4 days or more to recieve, test, send off and get results.......France was so much more organised, its just a mess here in the UK

Hello again JonnyD. I have been following this thread and hope you have been able to resolve the problem and have escaped from quarantine. We have just returned to UK and are awaiting our test packs. Hope they turn up today and it does not follow your terrible ordeal. If you have time or inclination after the problems you have gone through, please tell us the final outcome. Thanks
