Those voting for Macron (I mean the Brits here who have a vote) are they voting for France (like for my kids furture) or themselves ? Although you cannot vote you can still volunteer for your candidate, preach for your candidate on another forum where it will count;
do I go on?
Those islander expats you speak about who are voting for "france" have been here for 10+ years, have citizenship (passport for those that do not understand) and support the french soccer team unless it is against England. I have been here nearly 25 years. I still don't want French citerzenship and hate football regardless of who plays.

You could vote for your children's future if you applied for French citizenship. OTOH I thought you said that your children wanted to live in the UK ? I could....but who do you vote for ? Would I get out of bed, no. Like most in France on Sunday. I pass a French test to vote for MLP ? LOL That would be a bit wierd. In terms of the kids, well that is up to them. One has their sights on America. It would be great if they fulfill their future in France.

The creatures outside looked from immigrant to expat and from expat to immigrant, and from immigrant to expat again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

So your reason for not wanting to obtain the right to vote depends on it being on a Sunday?

So your reason for not wanting to obtain the right to vote depends on it being on a Sunday? No, I think voting should be a right for anyone who has lived in the country for a given amount time and pays into the system.

There is a distinct difference between expat and immigrant. I am an expat for example, because I originally moved to France for work. I have no intention of remaining in France for the rest of my life. I will move back. An immigrant is someone who moves to a foreign country with the intention of staying there for the rest of their lives. There are plenty of French immigrants in the UK and plenty of French expats. Likewise Brits in France.

I'd be interested to see a quote from a French man or woman in which they claim to be an ex-pat? No, as far as I'm concerned, there's only one ex-pat on here. 😉

If only that ex-pat were an ex-member.

I'd be interested to see a quote from a French man or woman in which they claim to be an ex-pat? I really don't think they care. And so they should not. The only people who seem to care are British living in France. The world/universe belongs to everyone IMHO.

Yes, I would like to see Le Pen win. Hopefully my vote counts towards this. France needs change. Big time.. Even if it means a big shake up for the next few years. I thought you lived in Spain..?
