Is that from personal experience? Not the marriage bit, sadly, but mixed-couple friends had a very different experience to ours. You can imagine the pressure put on the foncs at Bordeaux at the height of the Brexit panic...the average wait for naturalisation in 2017/8 was two years. Friends who applied in 2020 had theirs within a year. Would you come under the Bdx cachement area? Not sure what the catchment area limits are. Maybe La Rochelle ?

If I understand your "English" correctly , you and your wife vote for different parties in the second round of the Presidential elections? So why bother voting ? our civic duty.... How quaint.

That would be your préfecture. Not sure why the applications in 47 were farmed out to Bdx unless it was because of the sheer numbers involved Better get cracking, though. By the time you've booked and passed your language test, it'll be 2023 before you know it!

It because the offices have been grouped into bigger areas so as to have less staff.

It because the offices have been grouped into bigger areas so as to have less staff. All part of the cutbacks started by Sarko and compounded by Hollande.

Good thing too. Much business can be done on line these days. Too many fonctionnaires still, many working a 4 day week for all practical purposes and breaking the country with their pensions and perks.

The centre for the whole of what was the Poitou-Charentes region was changed to Niort in 2015.
