Not only that but many/most young people do not have a fixed internet connection in their home .. they use 4G/5G on their phones for everything i.e. banking, games, etc. Land lines and dvd players are like phone boxes relics of the past and for old people. I watched an interview with someone saying who had a dvd player anymore 😃 we do but today's generation have moved onto streaming.

Oh dear, I know there are lots of solutions but here
There is no 4G/5G signal. Getting any mobile signal is a struggle.
Pages jaunes offers: Oups… nous n’avons pas encore de réponse à cette recherche ! on the input of "cyber cafe" as the search object
There are genuinely people here who live as if in the 1970s and have no - as in absolutely no access to their espace.
As for France Service, I will guess that the nearest office is going to be at least an 80km round trip. The local finance office closed a couple of years ago - probably during the C19 lockdowns.

We brought back dozens of DVDs back from last holiday at the request of some of our friends, OH was doing some voluntary work at a charity shop. I do not watch TV for more than an hour or two per week as I find very little of interest. I realise that it is out their if you can find it, but, having kicked the habit of watching Bargain Hunt, Antiques Roadshow etc when The Sky footprint was reduced I really don’t want to pick it up again, though, I will take a look at some of the DVDs that we got for our friends before we pass them on.

Thanks that did work - 1 result, 11km away but using the internet to find out how to access the internet is once again going to baffle the local residents without access. Seems they do not have a manned phone - it is part of the sports and leisure centre.

Every little village around us has an espace media , either the tourist center, little cafe or mediateque and I think the bank has free wifi too. A bit like the chicken /egg stuff? There are also courses for the elderly French on how to use it.

It may help them track down those few who obtained their WARP's fraudulently by declaring their 'maison secondaire' as their principal residence. Surely, you would only have a tax account if you had made a tax declaration in the past so unless there is some sort of 'cross check' those that now have a CdS by fraudulent means will still get away with it, they will though have to pay Taxe D'Habitation as before.

I don't know anyone that pays less than €300 tax fonciere/habitation
You do now, me😎 Some people don't have a clue how the other half live. Our most recent fonciere came to €63 and have never had to pay Taxe Habitation. But then, we don't enjoy multiple income sources apart from basic state pension and don't have 3 hectares and a pool. And any sort of mobile network coverage here would be a blessing so apart from landline-based internet we are living in the 70s.

All non satellite stuff.

you need to confirm it is correct or to correct it. The fine can be 150€ for each entry Best not to declare then if you are worried that you might get something wrong, then you cannot be fined, not that anyone will anyway except those seeking to hide properties which are sources of income. En cas d’erreur, d’omission ou de déclaration incomplète, une amende d’un montant forfaitaire de 150 € par local pourra être appliquée. I will do nothing and expect to recieve the correct bill for TdH for the new property which they know is mine.

Some people don't have a clue how the other half live. I think they do but perhaps it doesn't keep them awake at night.

Most Médiathèques/Bibliothèques have Internet access available .. in some it's free, in others there is a very small charge.
Both our local Mairies have computers with free Internet access available for members of the public for things like consulting your tax documents ie taxe fonc etc and also for anything concerned with living in the locality.

Who is " the other half " ? I now that there are a lot of people worse of than us that live in Europe. 648 million live below the poverty line of $2.15/day
