Thanks. I admit, I took that information from Connexion which I know is not always a good source. I will write to Impots in my espace. They usually reply to queries very promptly.

No need to write, you have understood the mur à mur and the Connexions is correct, you must list all rooms.

Aaagh, I have fallen into the "repeat anything enough times & it becomes truth" There is no must about anything, if you like jumping through hoops then fill out the formulaire, otherwise ignore it. To even find their request which is not even a request but a statement you would have to have gone into an obscure section of the impôts site, another section on mine, the personal details has a red dot on it suggesting something is to be read but there is nothing there.

From the Impots this morning, Excuse translation but it's a pretty good Translation. As you know, the council tax on main residences will be abolished from 2023 for all households. However, the taxes on secondary residences and vacant premises will be maintained. In order to enable the tax authorities to properly identify the dwellings concerned by these remaining taxes, a new reporting obligation, set out in Article 1418 of the General Tax Code, has been introduced. As a landlord, you are concerned by this new reporting obligation. Thus, for each of your premises (including car parks, cellars, etc.), you must tell us in what capacity you occupy them and, when you do not occupy them yourself, the identity of the occupants and the period of their occupation (situation on 1 January 2023). In order to facilitate your declaration, the occupancy data known to the tax authorities are pre-filled. It is important, even in the case of pre-filling, to ensure that the information concerning you is correct. If it is not, you must correct it. After this first declaration, only a change of situation will require a new declaration from you. You have until 30 June 2023 to declare the occupancy status of your property, in the "Property" tab of your secure area on the impots.gouv.fr website. For more information, we invite you to consult the "Manage my properties" section of the impots.gouv.fr website. If you need assistance with your tax return or have problems accessing our online services, you can call 0 809 401 401 (free service + price of a call), Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 7 pm, or go directly to your nearest tax office or France Services centre to access a self-service computer and receive personalised assistance if necessary. If you have already made your occupation declaration on your secure space on impots.gouv.fr, please disregard this message. Thank you for your attention. La Direction générale des Finances publiques
