Macron still appears to be in the lead for next year's elections so I wouldn't write him off just yet. As for the UK vaccination program being great compared to the EU, why does no-one mention the fact that the UK used a vaccine which is ultra easy to handle, whereas a country like France has used mainly vaccines which have to be stored/transported at -70 degs. It's the difference between making an omelette or a souffle.

France made it plain quite early that the AZ may pose a risk to the people, not surprisingly the French people became reticent and gave it the bums rush.

And it looks like it was right to do so. The Pfizer vaccine appears to be more effective and longer lasting. Well done France for making the right choice.

Given the presence of gilets jaunes and various political loonies I suspect that there may be more than a grain of truth in what nobody says.

If by France you mean Manny Macron you are absolutely correct - Where the problem arises is that millions of people listen to what he says, similar to Trump, and end up making decisions based on their political beliefs not the Science. AZ have done us a great service only to be belittled and attacked by Macron when what he should have been doing is promoting vaccination as soon as it was approved. IMHO Macron does have blood on his hands and whatever he says now is far too little and far too late.

It's interesting about Macron. He certainly manages to upset many people but yet indications are that his personal popularity is higher than many other recent presidents. My colleague in Bordeaux says that Macron's fate will be decided in the first round of the elections. If he is in the top two against MLP then he will be reelected. If there is a credible Republican who dares to stand against him, then he may not get through to second round.

Xavier Bertrand looks thé likely candidate from the right with Ségolène Royale maybe going for the depleted left.

If you look at what Macron said you will see that he repeated what the EMA reported, ie that there was not enough evidence to be certain that the over 65 year olds would get full protection from AZ. In the end the EMA approved it in the believe that it would, but without certainty. So what he, and others, said was in-line with scientific study. This hatred of Macron by some is bizarre. The UK can only dream of having politicians like Macron or Merkel. Instead they've got a bunch of clowns. Poor sods.

They should of had Merkel tell the French to get vaccinated - they always seem to bow down or surrender when a person other then a French one is speaking.
Reminds of Obamacare.. It is good and needed but the government cannot tell us what to do or pay for attitude comes out.

Why is it that every criticism of Macron results in an attack on what UK government are doing instead of a balanced response about the French Presidents damage he did to the AZ vaccine rollout in France - Unbelievable - Macron fu%%ed up big time and many innocent people have died as a result.

Macron was following the science when he said what he did about AZ; perhaps he chose the wrong words to express his view, or perhaps the MSM chose to twist what he said to make him out as the bad guy. He wasn't the only one to take such a stance, and subsequent effectiveness seems to have proved him and the others right, as AZ is not the recommended vaccine it once was.

Exactly that Gigi - Why some people have their heads buried so far up Macrons Ar*e is beyond me when the evidence of his mismanagement is plain to see - and as for his glove puppets Castex and Veran words fail me - Still lets look forward to next year's election with some hope that the Little Banker will be deposed - Maybe a Female Can sort out the current shirt show 😊😊😊
P.S. you can replace shirt with sh*t but l thought it rather elegant😉😉😉

But surely your head is deeper than anybody’s. You are keen to put Macron down but refuse to accept that his concerns about AZ were genuine. Good Daily Telegraph stuff.
