I said in a previous post that ‘my sense of Reason became stronger’ now I am getting confused again. Here is the reason why. www.thecandidadiet.com/ph-levels-candida/Too much acid and nothing makes sense. Edit14/1/23 Today I learned that Mark who was known as FFS on the forum that carries this thread was in the last few weeks of his life. He died on 23/7/22 It is weird, although I never knew him personally I think that he had charisma. Maybe I will never learn how to get it.

Update so far so good. Currently still house/dog sitting but with the current warm weather the priority of dog walking duties has been downgraded. He doesn’t seem to mind I have gained about four kilograms and eating is getting less of a chore. Though my appetite is nothing like it was. I am still on prescription protein supplements. I got a fresh batch from the new local pharmacy a few days ago. The pharmacy did not have any of the red topped very high calorific stuff in but I decided that the lower related blue top would be ok, as I was not keen on faffing about. Another strange effect, of the surgery I think, or, perhaps the Saturn radio therapy is the effect it has had on my normally acute hearing. A bit of research seems to show that it is normal, although relatively rare www.webmd.com/brain/sound-sensitivity-hyperacusis#091e9c5e815e336d-2-5‘ If you have hyperacusis, you might be tempted to use earplugs to muffle sound or stay away from social situations where there might be sounds that bother you. While these can give you short-term relief, they can, over the long term, make your symptoms worse. That's because when you eventually remove your earplugs or go into a social setting, the sounds can seem even louder.’ Really weird. I have been using earplugs for many years as I have only occasionally been tolerant to harsh/overloud noise. Moi, intolerant? I don’t believe it! If you could see some of the situations that I put up with then I am sure you would understand.

The Latest
We returned from our busman’s holiday dog/house sitting and made a lot of use of air conditioning with not so much excise due to high temperatures. I am eating more, on occasion, usually in the mornings I actually fancy that I have slight hunger pangs and my good impeccable taste is returning. I have put on very little weight. At one point a couple of weeks or so ago I thought I had put on a few kg after weighing myself at a pharmacy. Upon returning home my scale indicated that I was about the same weight as when we left five weeks previously. Even this scale, electronic, seems to be very temperamental.
Yesterday I had an appointment with a Dietician who has recommended a diet plan for me which I shall do my best to stick to until I see them again in September.
I fancy a small bottle of beer now and again and wonder if it would have negative or positive effects on my progress?
Meal plan and tips advised:
Drink small amounts of water all the length of the day. Don’t drink during meals.o Take small mouthfuls of food, chew well, put down fork between each mouthful. Take bicarbonate of soda mouthwash several times a day. Add cream, gravy, sauce to make eating easier. Enrich with cream and cheese. (Butter).
9am cereal, full cream milk, dried fruit, apple.
11.30. Snack. Fruit compote. 100g. (No added sugar).
13h Lunch 50 gms meat or 1 egg. Vegetables.
15-16h Snack biscottes + cheese + fruit or compote. (No added sugar). U 19h 50 gms meat or 1 egg. Potatoes, pasta or rice. 1 protein drink or crème.
Snack before bed. Yoghurt or milky cocoa.

This can’t go on much longer. Much to your relief Of late I have been feeling that I am getting fitter. ( note: have been convincing myself by saying so every day now for over a year, patently, It is not true) Probably due to the increased amount of exercise that I have been undertaking as and when circumstances have allowed. Also, probably due to the wounds caused by the surgery healing, also, it could be something to do with the OH being on a high. She has not been barking with her usual ferocity of late…….. Attachment DeletedProbably due to the scheduled trip to England to see friends and relatives drawing closer. But, we are not there yet. ‘ Many a slip twixt cup and lip’ and I reckon that Life is a matter of chance and how it plays out depends upon which horses one backs and how one hedges one’s bets.

could be something to do with the OH being on a high. She has not been barking with her usual ferocity of late…….. Just a guess but perhaps she's relieved that you're doing well and therefore isn't as stressed Overall good news Nifty, very pleased for you and your wife.

Steady as she goes.Sometimes it can be an exhausting job to try and keep her on an even keel. I would give her full autonomy and just smile and nod at her, but, I am terrified that she might steer us on to rocks that she can’t see.
Although I have the occasional small drink, only for social purposes of course, I have rather gone off drinking alcohol, but, I have not got it within me to let her drink the excellent wine the I had given to me on her own. Hope to be working on that one soon.

I’m pleased to read that you are experiencing improvements, Nifty. It’s tough when you’re in for the long term with a medical problem as improvements can seem (and often are) so slow in arriving - even more so with your illness as you didn’t know what on earth the illness was, nor able to understand what the treatment was etc. I think that you are very stoical to be able to cope with your condition and treatment as well as you have.
Best wishes for your future health and I’m happy to read what happens as time goes on - don’t think you’d be boring everyone, as those who might not want to know more can just avoid your posts on this thread. Best wishes to you both for your trip - it’s great that you have something to look forward to, so good for the morale.

Prostate cancer doesn't have to be a suprise , as it was with Bill ."In 2017 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, having long ignored the symptoms." A simple blood test every year will show up the possibility of having it. You don't even need a prescription , it just costs €17 , at least it does here.
