Going back to the title of this thread, I think waking up this morning to the news that there will be immediate issue of visas for truck drivers and chicken pluckers from EU, I agree with it, except I would add a plus to the Sh@t. It has not taken long for the the first leaks in brexit to appear. I am now waiting for the sodbusters to wade in and say that the sprouts will not be on the christmas table resulting in another waive of visas issued. Then there are the shortages of care workers, nurses and so it will go on...

Ummm “ guest workers” on short term Visas /contracts, presumably with no right to stay once the contract is done, and do we know yet rights with regard to being accompanied by family, where they are going to be accommodated… All starting to sound a bit like one or two places in/around the Gulf……

Is that true though? What's your solution? Something has to change. Immigration policy? Independence? European union membership? Sure as shit the status quo isn't working out well for us.

I’m not saying Britain hasn’t got serious issues it certainly has but other UK countries have too Do even see what you've just written? Assuming you meant England, why point at a crisis in Scotland? Nobody mentioned England in isolation. People are dying. Its not a competition. And nobody says the UK has to be perfect, only better. So why then do Brits perceive anything less than Utopia in Scotland as failure? Of course there are failures in Scotland, but on any public issue we're a miles ahead of where we might be under direct rule, while having a budget of only 60% of the revenues raised here.

There doesnt seem to be a shortage of ambulances in France, afaics; but then most are private companies. Perhaps Scotland should consider privatising them. As well as buying ferries abroad!

I see no reason to object to calling out the likes of BE. People like that not only deny the truth, but in doing so peddle untruths. Think Trump. To say that there is no problem with the NHS, or a shortage of anything because of transport or labour shortages is blatantly untrue and should be challenged. Too many people are paralysed by 'correct' behaviour. But where I come from, a spade is a spade. Unless it’s a pitchfork.
